Photo-activated therapy is indispensable in modern
medicine since the 1990s. For the treatment of tumors,
skin diseases and wound infections.
Since the middle of the 90s Univ.-Prof. Dr. Rainer Hahn has been working on
photosensitizers and compatible light sources. Dr. Frank Schynowski is one of

Clinic
The tolonium chloride photosenitizer has been proven safe for the
therapy of poisonings for a long time. Initially, such patients attracted
attention by getting sensitised by light. As a result the photoactivated
therapy with tolonium chloride was developed.
Under irradiation with the PACT ® light source, the applied PACT ®
sensitizer attacks (after a short residence time) the cell walls of
bacteria, virus and fungi. Thereby, PACT ® is also effective against
antibiotic resistant bacteria as well as deep under the surface.
After therapy (from 20 seconds) the dye is rinsed of without residue.
Nothing hinders the wound healing, nothing affects the aesthetic.
Regeneration is promoted.
