Retirements<br />
Scott Styris<br />
Scott Styris retired from International <strong>Cricket</strong> on 23 June <strong>2011</strong>, finishing<br />
a 12-year career with the BLACKCAPS.<br />
The Northern Knights all-rounder played his first match on the 1999 tour<br />
of India and his last in the semi final of the ICC <strong>Cricket</strong> World Cup <strong>2011</strong><br />
against Sri Lanka.<br />
Highlights of Scott Styris’s career include winning the ICC Champions<br />
Trophy in 2000 in Kenya and the history making <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong> Test series<br />
in the West Indies in 2002 as career highlights. A memorable debut<br />
came in the second Test of that series with Styris, batting at number<br />
eight, hitting a century that helped the team to a draw and ultimately<br />
clinch the series.<br />
Scott Styris has been a key part of the BLACKCAPS unit with both bat<br />
and ball and is well known for his competitive attitude.<br />
