Hangzhou / Shanghai
Today, there is time to enjoy more optional activities before boarding the train to Hangzhou, famed
as China’s most beautiful city. On arrival in Hangzhou you’ll visit West Lake before heading into the
countryside to a bamboo nature reserve called Moganshan. Spend the afternoon splashing in the
crystal clear mountain lagoon and head to a mountain lodge for a BBQ and overnight stay. The next
morning, hike to the peak of Moganshan Mountain passing Chairman Mao’s former residence, before
travelling onto Shanghai where you can join China’s largest bar crawl and experience the famed
nightlife.
Shanghai
There are plenty of optional activities in Shanghai to fill your days; see an incredible acrobatics
performances, join a former French Concession Walking Tour including a visit to a hidden
underground propaganda museum and visit a bar on the roof of a skyscraper where you can enjoy
views of Pudong and the Bund whilst sat in a hot tub sipping champagne!
Fujian province
Today, take the bullet train to Nanjing in Fujian province arguably the most picturesque area in the
whole of Asia. Here you spend the night in a Tulou; a traditional wooden roundhouse of the Hakka
people. This provides an opportunity to not just observe, but actively experience their fascinating
way of life. On Day 22, enjoy breakfast in the roundhouse prepared by one of your local Hakka hosts
and then you can visit neighbouring round-houses, temples and beautiful countryside, sample the tea
in a tea ceremony, and swim in the local river. In the afternoon head to a tea plantation in the hills
and set up camp for a night around the campfire. The next morning try picking and drinking the local
tea whilst taking in the stunning views. Cycle to a village famous for its beautiful rivers, mountains
and original Tulou clusters for lunch. Take night train to Guangzhou.
Macau
On arrival in Guangzhou, you’ll be driven to Zhuhai and from there it’s on to the former Portuguese
colony of Macau where you can try the World’s Highest Bungee Jump! There is also the opportunity
to visit the Venetian Macau; a replica of the Venetian in Vegas only twice the size!
Hong Kong
This morning, enjoy a walking tour of the pretty Portuguese style streets of Macau visiting Saint
Paul’s Ruins and sample some traditional Macanese food. In the afternoon catch a high-speed ferry
back to Hong Kong. Say your final good byes to the group on the Hong Kong Pub Crawl having just
completed an epic 3,984-mile journey around China!
