Meet your group, jump on the metro and<br />
start your journey in Red Square! On Day 2,<br />
continue exploring this great city before an<br />
afternoon departure to Irkutsk.<br />
Trans Siberian Railway<br />
Settle into life on board, spend time with the<br />
locals, share stories and watch the landscapes<br />
change out of the window.<br />
Irkutsk / Lake Baikal<br />
Early morning arrival in Irkutsk and then on<br />
to Lake Baikal. Enjoy a refreshing swim and<br />
try the famous lake’s tasty fish. On Day 7,<br />
return to Irkutsk and board an evening train<br />
to Ulaanbaatar.<br />
Trans Mongolian Railway<br />
Watch the traders at the border and catch a<br />
glimpse of your first yak in Mongolia.<br />

Meet your group and Honcho in Beijing. If you<br />
arrive a few days earlier and want to explore<br />
more of China, check out our RailPacks on<br />
page 123. On Day 2, explore the hutongs and<br />
Tiananmen Square. Ride a bicycle around to<br />
get an idea of the scale of the city and the<br />
metro to grasp the density of the population.<br />
Trans Mongolian / Ulaanbaatar<br />
Board the Trans Mongolian Railway. Watch<br />
an impressive change of wheels at the border<br />
and cross the mighty Gobi Desert before<br />
arriving in Ulaanbaatar. Arrive on Day 4 and<br />
set out to explore this quirky capital.<br />
Terelj National Park / Ulaanbaatar<br />
Head out to Terelj National Park and your ger<br />
camp. Relax in the fresh air and sample some<br />
nomadic delicacies. Climb Turtle Rock and play<br />
some pool with the locals in the wilderness<br />
before returning to Mongolia’s capital city.<br />
