Soccer 1 by Kidz Love Soccer<br />

Players will learn dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting,<br />

age-specific defense, etc. Fun skill games are played at every<br />

session, and every participant will have a ball at his or her feet.<br />

Small-sided soccer matches will be introduced gradually. Each<br />

Students will be instructed in the sport <strong>of</strong> fencing. Upon successful<br />

completion <strong>of</strong> the course, students will have the ability<br />

to execute attacks, parry (defend or block), counter attacks, and<br />

faint attacks. Moreover, the program will also provide general<br />

fitness, cardio, reflex and coordination drills. Participants should<br />

wear athletic shoes, sweats/pants (no jeans), and a t-shirt. All<br />

equipment will be provided by IFA at no additional cost. IFA<br />

is currently located at 914 N. Rengstr<strong>of</strong>f Ave, (Western Ballet)<br />

TENNIS<br />

Group Lessons: <strong>Enjoy</strong> top-flight instruction from the staff <strong>of</strong><br />

Stanford University Tennis Coach John Whitlinger and USPTA<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Tom Sarsfield. Youth and adult classes <strong>of</strong> 3-8<br />

students will consist <strong>of</strong> six hours <strong>of</strong> instruction. Classes <strong>of</strong><br />

two students and Terrific Tiny Tennis classes will consist <strong>of</strong><br />

four hours <strong>of</strong> instruction. Students provide own rackets.<br />

IMPORTANT: In case <strong>of</strong> rain, contact the Recreation Department<br />

at 463-4900, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, within<br />

the hour before scheduled starting time for class status<br />

or check with the instructor at the court. If at any time the<br />

instructor is absent, report to the next scheduled lesson for<br />

makeup date.<br />

NO POSTPONEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE<br />

INITIATED BY THE INSTRUCTOR OR THE RECREATION<br />

DEPARTMENT.<br />

Unless notified to the contrary, make up lessons will be<br />

forwarded to the next normal meeting day and time. However,<br />

Fridays (for weekday lessons) or Sundays (for weekend<br />

lessons) may be used at the instructor’s discretion. NOTE:<br />

If an earlier class is postponed due to rain, all the following<br />

classes may also be postponed that day even if the courts<br />

become dry.<br />

Terrific Tiny Tennis<br />

Children, 5-8 years <strong>of</strong> age, play FUN activities and games<br />

with low compression tennis balls on the “42 ft. court” that<br />

will enhance their skill development in a success oriented<br />

environment. Small group lessons, only 2-6 students! We<br />

recommend the 23” to 25” rackets.<br />
