Stephen G. Lisberger, PhD<br />
Stephen G. Lisberger, PhD, is a professor of physiology. Dr. Lisberger directs<br />
the W.M. Keck Foundation Center for Integrative Neuroscience at <strong>UCSF</strong> and<br />
co-directs the Sloan-Swartz Center for Theoretical Neurobiology at <strong>UCSF</strong>.<br />
Dr. Lisberger’s research involves studying specific eye movements and<br />
reflexes to better understand the basic organization of motor circuits, the<br />
decoding of visual responses for control of movement and the neural basis of<br />
motor learning.<br />
In addition to his role as an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical<br />
Institute, Dr. Lisberger is a member of the American Academy of Arts and<br />
Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the<br />
Society of Neuroscience.<br />
Dr. Lisberger received a BA in mathematics from Cornell University and a PhD<br />
in physiology from the University of Washington.
