Quinte West OPP appoint two new
community officers
School Resource Officer
Constable Maggie McCaughen joined the OPP in 2007. As a five year
constable working out of the Quinte West detachment, Maggie has
amassed a wealth of operational policing experience, particularly in
front-line service delivery and various investigative disciplines. Maggie
has completed a number of specialty training courses including: Scenes
of Crime Officer training, Domestic Violence Investigations, and she is
a trained Restorative Justice facilitator. Prior to her career in policing,
Maggie completed her Master’s degree in Criminology at the University
of Toronto. Maggie is excited about her new role as the School
Resource Officer. She is dedicated to promoting a safe school
environment throughout the City of Quinte West. Maggie will be
utilizing innovative approaches to tackle today’s youth issues and to
increase police accessibility to students.
Community Services Officer
Constable Dave Ludington has been in the Quinte Region since 1985.
He started his policing career in 1999 with the former Quinte West
Police Service. In 2004 he became a member of the amalgamated
service, becoming a member of the OPP.
After several years of working general patrol Dave took on the role of
School Resource Officer and media relation’s officer in 2008. In 2010
he returned to platoon where he worked a temporary assignment as
Acting Sergeant.
In September 2012 Dave was the successful applicant for the position of
Community Services Officer and quickly assigned to his new role with
the Quinte West OPP. Dave, his wife and 2 children live in Quinte West.
Dave is an avid cyclist and coordinates the OPP Bicycle Patrol Program.
