The food, music and atmosphere of the sun-drenched Caribbean islands will excite you all evening! Held in the New Church. Tickets including dinner and DJ LEON. HOT OFF ANNOUNCEMENTS THE and PRESS !!! ADVANCE NEWS 1. CHRIS…CROSS Today’s session is led by Chyril Husbands and Frances Hounsell. Please register children in advance for child protection purposes using full names. Children who arrive after the registration has closed MUST be brought to the Old Church by their parent or guardian for the register to be completed. Please DO NOT send your child to Chris…Cross without registering. 2. CRECHE Crèche is in action today, so enjoy the freedom and thank the volunteers! 3. RESPONDING TO GENEROUS LOVE Last week was the formal end to our 2010 Stewardship programme. If you have not already done so, please will you return your paperwork to Beth Morris or in the box provided. It is not too late. If you have been left out, sorry, and please say and we can give you the information pack for your own response. Please consider whether your financial contribution is a fair expression of the value which Holy Cross Church and our Christian faith has for you. 4. CHURCH YOUTH GROUPS Cross-Over, our education group for pupils in the school Junior Department meets tonight at 5pm at the Rectory, and there is also the possibility that a group for Year 7 and 8 students may be formed. Can you help organise this Speak to Neil. 5. WEDNESDAY LUNCHES Lunches are served on Wednesdays in term time, from noon to about 1pm. We are children-friendly and serve child portions, so bring the kids along! If you are free, you are very warmly invited to be a member of the Team producing lunches or just come along and eat! 6. TUESDAY TEAS Come and enjoy Tea and Cake in the Parish Room from 2pm -4pm. 7. ENJOY SINGING TOGETHER YOU are invited to come and join the singers who work each week to support the congregational singing and perform a weekly choral item as an act of worship of See Krystyna today. 8. PAKISTAN FLOOD EMERGENCY – HOLY CROSS COLLECTION. Please be advised that I have just sent a cheque to the Disasters Emergency Committee for £252.00 in aid of the victims of the floods in Pakistan. This money comprises the cash collected at Holy Cross Church together with a Gift Aid component. Malcolm Ede. PCC Hon. Treasurer. 9. MAGNA IS OUT The October edition of Magna is published and ready for you to take away and read. Would you like to have a turn on the Committee Speak to Neil, David Clarke or Christeen George. 10. SUNDAY 31st OCTOBER – COMMEMORATION SERVICE For those whose funerals have been in the past 12 months or so. We will be asking for support for this service as we hope to provide refreshments afterwards for about 80 people. Can you make cakes or scones etc. For details of how to help, ask Joan Bird. 11. HOLY CROSS MOTHERS’ UNION We meet every month on the first Monday at 8pm at the rectory or other venues. New members are always welcome and you do not have to be a mother or even female! Men, women, young and old are all included. We aim to share world-wide to make this a better world for all to enjoy. God.
