Trinity Nineteen
Today is a Baptism Sunday and we warmly welcome the family and friends of the candidate:
DENEYO TALEEM HOPKIN
Ten lepers are healed by Jesus, but, only one of them has the grace to return and offer some words of
thanksgiving. And he, as Jesus describes him, is a “foreigner” but not only a foreigner, but a hated
Samaritan.
Jesus has a few brushes with Samaritans and famously includes one in his parable of the Good
Samaritan. The message is about God’s love being inclusive, and not offered just to us, our kind and
those we like. We are also called to offer love for all the people of the world, and love which brings
abundant life for everyone.
This Sunday Trinity Nineteen (Year C - track 2) RCL p. 1011-1014
