(v) Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy<br />

(CCRH):<br />

Among the Traditional / Complementary<br />

systems <strong>of</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> in the country,<br />

Homoeopathy <strong>is</strong> one <strong>of</strong> the most popular <strong>System</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong>. Recognizing the acceptance <strong>of</strong> th<strong>is</strong><br />

system by the masses, the Government <strong>of</strong> India<br />

establ<strong>is</strong>hed the Central Council for Research in<br />

<strong>Indian</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> and Homoeopathy in 1969. In<br />

1978, the Council was split to streamline the<br />

research work in all the system <strong>of</strong> medicines<br />

under AYUSH. Thus the Central Council for<br />

Research in Homoeopathy came into ex<strong>is</strong>tence<br />

as an autonomous organization at New Delhi. At<br />

present, the Central Council for Research in<br />

Homoeopathy (CCRH) has a network <strong>of</strong> 29<br />

Institutes/Units including 02 independent<br />

extension Units across the country which<br />

compr<strong>is</strong>es <strong>of</strong> two (02) Central Research Institutes<br />

(H), ) (CRIH), Kottayam (Kerala) & Nodia, (U.P.),<br />

one (01) Homoeopathic Drug Research Insitute<br />

(HDRI), Lucknow, (U.P.), eight (08)<br />

Regional<br />

Research Institutes (Homoeopathy) (RRIH),<br />

Mumbai (Maharashtra), Gudivada, (Andhra<br />

Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Imphal (Manipur),<br />

than th<strong>is</strong> there are three (03) OPD Centers,<br />

Nedumangad (Kerala), Delhi Cantonment (New<br />

Delhi) & Lady Harding Medical College (New<br />

Delhi).<br />

<strong>The</strong> Council has IPD facilities at four (04)<br />

Centers (Kottayam, Noida, Gudivada and Puri)<br />

and OPD service at 27 Centres. Out <strong>of</strong> the Units<br />

mentioned above, the Units <strong>of</strong> the Council that<br />

are not directly dealing with the patients are<br />
