<strong>Old</strong> <strong>St</strong>. Pat’s who, along with his family, was instrumental in creating an interreligious dialog at <strong>Old</strong> <strong>St</strong>. Pat’s. <strong>St</strong>eve was a member<br />

of <strong>Old</strong> <strong>St</strong>. Pat’s Family Advisory Board, president of the First Friday Club, and committed countless hours to interfaith leadership<br />

through <strong>Old</strong> <strong>St</strong>. Pat’s Interfaith Union.<br />

The Interfaith Union is a resource center representing religious traditions — Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and others.<br />

Education, support, mentoring, community, and <strong>for</strong>mation are provided <strong>for</strong> individuals, the clergy, and religious communities<br />

who are interested in strengthening and encouraging interreligious dialog.<br />

The program features world-renowned speakers who will focus on a critical topic of faith as well as discussing opportunities <strong>for</strong><br />

Getting Married — An Interfaith Wedding Meeting<br />

Thursday, May 13<br />

The <strong>Old</strong> <strong>St</strong>. Pat’s Jewish Catholic Couples Group will discuss the basic elements of a Jewish wedding ceremony and a Catholic wedding<br />

Ceremony at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 13 in the Fr. Jack Wall Mission Center, 711 W. Monroe, Chicago. This session will offer a description<br />

of common prayers, symbols, and biblical readings usually included in typical interfaith wedding ceremonies. Through the sharing of interfaith<br />

wedding experiences, the discussion will focus on possible solutions to common problems encountered in preparing Jewish Catholic wedding<br />

ceremonies. Rabbi Chava Bahle, Makom Salom, Chicago, and Father Paul Novak, President, De La Salle Insitute, Chicago, will participate in<br />

this meeting. Engaged couples, or those considering becoming engaged are invited to attend. Married couples also are encouraged to attend<br />

so they can share their wisdom and experiences. A booklet containing 35 interfaith wedding programs will be available <strong>for</strong> purchase. For more<br />
