Section 1: Article IV, Section 24.62. 1 (a) Land Use Zoning District Establishment<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Land Development Code <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Laredo</strong>, is amended as follows:<br />

Section 24.62.1<br />

LAND USE ZONING DISTRICT ESTABLISHMENT<br />

(a) For the purpose <strong>of</strong> this ordinance, the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Laredo</strong> is geographically divided into<br />

zoning districts and Specific Use Zoning Overlay Districts which are designated as<br />

follows:<br />

Limited Business District<br />

Arts and Entertainment District<br />

Districts and Boundaries Established. Said districts and boundaries there<strong>of</strong> are hereby<br />

adopted and established as shown on the Zoning Map <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Laredo</strong>, Texas,<br />

which map, together with all notations, references, data, district boundaries and other<br />

information shown thereon, shall be, and the same are hereby, made a part <strong>of</strong> this<br />

ordinance. Said Zoning Map, properly attested, shall be and remain on file in the <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Secretary. Said Ordinance Map may be amended from time to time as<br />

provided in this ordinance.<br />

Section 2: Article IV, Section 24.62.2 ZONING DISTRICT PURPOSE <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Land Development Code <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Laredo</strong>, is amended by the addition <strong>of</strong> the<br />

following:<br />

18. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the AE District (Arts and Entertainment District) is to provide a<br />

mixed-use environment where arts and entertainment venues, commercial, residential<br />

and <strong>of</strong>fice uses harmoniously co-exist in a higher density, pedestrian-oriented<br />

environment.<br />

Section 3: Article IV, Section 24.63.2 PERMITTED LAND USES <strong>of</strong> the Land<br />

Development Code <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Laredo</strong>, is amended and appended to this ordinance as<br />

Attachment A.<br />
