MARRIAGE MINISTRY
An Invitation to All Couples to the Friday Date
Night Series: Marriage Uncorked
Friday, Oct. 23.
Old St. Pat's continues its Marriage series on
five Friday nights this year. All married couples,
newly married and veterans alike, are invited
to gather for pizza, beer, and stimulating
conversation on their favorite topic: marriage.
Mark your calendars for the next program in the series, Friday,
Oct. 23. The theme of the evening is Transparency: The Key to
Emotional Intimacy and Connection. Terry Nelson-Johnson will
lead us in reflection and one-on one couple time. We would be
honored by your presence. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. in the Old St.
Pat's Church hall, followed by the program from 7:30 – 9 p.m.

drink is $25 per couple.
Future dates for the series are:
Friday, Nov. 20, 2009;
Friday, Jan. 15, Mar. 5 and May 7, 2010.
Wedding Volunteer Training Session
Saturday, Oct. 31
At Old St. Patrick's Church, wedding volunteers
participate in the hospitality mission by assisting
brides, grooms, and their families with the
arrangements on one of the most special and
important days in their lives.
Wedding volunteers ensure the day-of-the-wedding arrangements
and logistics at the church are fulfilled according to the plans they
have made with their priest and Old St. Pat's staff.
The time commitment required for this volunteer opportunity is
approximately three - four hours on Saturdays, once every six -
eight weeks. Instructions and training with experienced
volunteers will be provided at the training session.
If you are interested in becoming a Wedding Volunteer, please
join us on Saturday, Oct. 31, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., room 25, 2nd
floor, Fr. Jack Wall Mission Center, 711 West Monroe, Chicago.
You will have an opportunity to meet current volunteers. In
addition, there will be a discussion of the volunteers’
responsibilities, worksheet, and schedule.
