• Received reaffirmation of accreditation by the Association
of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs for the
Business Management and Office Administration
Associate of Applied Science Degree Programs.
• Received reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on
Colleges for the College.
• Received full accreditation by the Joint Review
Committee for Cardiovascular Technology for the
College’s Cardiovascular, Non-Invasive Option Program.
• Attained full accreditation by the Association of
Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering for
the Computer and Information Sciences Technology,
Internet and Web Development Program.
• Met all standards with no deficiencies on the Outcomes
Based Accreditation Report as noted by the Accreditation
Review Committee for Surgical Technology.
• Facilitated a healthy, safe, and
secure environment through the
instruction of approximately
50 staff and faculty in the
American Heart Association’s
Heartsaver Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) and
Automated External Defibrillator
(AED) training program.
• Met all standards with no deficiencies on the Annual
Accreditation Reports for the Invasive and Non-
Invasive Program Options as noted by the Joint Review
Committee for Cardiovascular Technology.
• Attained or exceeded all specified program standards for
the Allied Health Associate of Applied Science and the
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Certificate
Programs as determined by external academic auditors.
• Promoted excellence in teaching by providing appropriate
support and guidance for adjunct faculty as denoted by
the 96 percent overall satisfactory rating on the Evening
Services Adjunct Faculty Service Survey. This survey
is an assessment of adjunct faculty’s perceptions of the
support provided to them by the College.
• Achieved for the 23rd consecutive year a 100
percent student pass rate on the EMT-Paramedic
Licensure Examination.
Strategic Goal 5
Demonstrate institutional accountability and resourcefulness through planning , assessment,
evaluation, and continuous improvement
• Met institutional diversity goals for executive,
professional, faculty, and support staff categories.
• Inducted seven new members into the President’s
Trust. The President’s Trust recognizes individuals who
have provided significant financial contributions to the
Northeast State Foundation in support of
student scholarships.
• Exceeded the Tennessee Board of Regents community
college average score on the Performance Funding
Report as recognized by the Tennessee Higher Education
Commission. Northeast State has exceeded the average
Performance Funding score for community colleges for
eight of the last nine years.
• Completed Phase II of the wireless networking project
which provides individuals at the Northeast State at
Elizabethton and Northeast State at Kingsport teaching
sites with wireless connectivity to the Internet and
campus network.
• Increased by seven the number of endowed and
annual scholarships.
• Implemented GREENS, the Grass Roots Environmental
Efforts at Northeast State initiative.
• Increased efficiencies and access through the use of
Voice over IP (VOIP) technology for the College’s
telephone system.
Charlie and Rayma Gibbs created an endowed
scholarship for non-traditional students.
