Hotel Accommodations FIELD TRIP: Safford Mine Thursday, August 21, 2008 7:30AM – 5:30PM 5 Wildfire Golf Club Situated in the rugged Sonoran Desert of Northeast Phoenix, and features two picturesque 18-hole courses designed by two of golf’s greatest legends – Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo. The Plamer Signature Course at Wildfire Golf Club offers scenic and expansive fairways allowing the ball to remain in play even on an errant shot. The Faldo Championship Course features generous fairways, large bent grass greens and tee boxes. Surrounding both courses are the majestic McDowell Mountains and century-old saguaro cacti, providing a spectacular setting for golfers. The two courses of Wildfire Golf Club are an integral part of the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, voted one of the Top 75 Resorts in North America by Condé Nast readers. Hardhats and Safety Glasses will be provided. Participants will visit Freeport-McMoRan’s Safford mine, located eight miles north of Safford, Arizona. The major new leach SX-EW mine is substantially completed. Initial production of copper commenced in late 2007 with a ram-up to full production of 240 million pounds of copper per year expected in the first half of 2008. The tour will also include a visit to Freeport- McMoRan’s state-of-the-art, fully automated Central Analytical Service Center. This lab support Freeport-McMo-Ran’s seven North American copper operation and exploration activities. Partiipants will board a bus for the two and a half hour ride to Safford. The first stop will be at the Central Analytical Service Center for a hour tour followed by lunch. From there the tour will drive to the Safford mine. The Safford mine tour will last two and a half hours before the tour returns to Phoenix.
