I am writing to update you on the second week of CCAC central bargaining. The members of
your negotiating team are listed below:

CCACCNT completed its second week of bargaining with the Participating CCACs the week of
September 6-11, 2011. All 10 CCACs represented by ONA are participating.
While the team has to deal with many difficult challenges, we continue to make progress on
non-monetary issues and have a number of items in agreement signed off. Both parties tabled
their monetary packages this week.
We have set the following dates for further negotiations with the Participating CCACs:
September 26-27, 2011. Conciliation is scheduled on September 15, 2011.
The Participating CCACs and ONA have agreed to use Gerry Lee, a respected and well-known
mediator, to mediate the outstanding issues, should we not be able to resolve the issues at
bargaining. Mediation will take place on September 28-29, 2011.

CCACCNT Update
In preparation for our next week of bargaining, Bargaining Unit Presidents will be holding
Bargaining Unit meetings throughout the next two weeks. These meetings will provide a
bargaining update to ONA members, and Bargaining Unit Presidents will be conducting premediation
strike votes. The results of the strike votes will be confidential until we get to
mediation. The purpose of these strike votes will inform CCACCNT of your wishes during the
next days of bargaining and mediation.
Strike preparations will commence starting at these Bargaining Unit meetings. We will continue
negotiating a contract based on your priorities. An October 3 strike/lockout date motivates the
parties to negotiate a settlement that your leaders can bring back to you for ratification.
It is anticipated that additional Bargaining Unit meetings will be held on September 30, 2011 to
either ratify a settlement or conduct a strike vote. Please hold this date.

Bargaining Unit Presidents will be communicating to ONA members on our progress at
Bargaining Unit meetings, and by posting updates on their worksite bulletin boards and
providing hard copies or e-mails where members do not have access to ONA’s website.
