One of our special services is cutting hollow sections to specified lengths according
to the customer's wishes. Our state-of-the-art cutting equipment does the cutting
very accurately and quickly. Often, through this service, customers get items that
are ready for assembly and so they need not waste time on expensive and timeconsuming
part manufacture. What is more, they avoid the cost of residual pieces
left over from cutting, and their disposal. We are able to cut the hollow sections at
the desired angles, over a range of a few centimetres right up to 12 m. If wished,
we also carry out various further treatment procedures such as burr removal, washing
of hollow sections, and special packing. All cutting services include basic packing.
The cutting services can be divided
into two groups:
1. Cut lengths
• The kind of section lengths that can be cut
directly on the line, typically 4 m - 12 m, but
the minimum length is dimension-specific and
should be enquired about separately.
• The length tolerance for cut lengths is
-0/+20 mm.
The angle tolerance is ±2 degrees.
2. Precision cut lengths
• Separately cut lengths, whose length tolerance
is ±1 mm.
• The cutting is angular, so that one or both ends
of the hollow section will have an angle other
than a right angle. The angle tolerance is ±1
degree.
• The section ends can be cut to the desired
angles, provided that these are over 30
degrees.

Tolerances for hollow sections
Further treatment
1. Burr removal
• The burr caused by cutting is removed from
the inner and/or outer corners of the hollow
sections.
2. Washing
• Especial cleanliness of hollow sections is
particularly important in some applications
(e.g. when joining sections by welding). We
can wash the sections to remove any impurities
(such as cutting fluid, chips) that have adhered
to them during cutting and other working
stages.
3. Special packing
• Besides basic packing, we can pack hollow
sections in accordance with the customer's
wishes, e.g. by putting plastic between layers
in the bundle, or by packing the sections on a
pallet.
Packing
• The basic form of packing for hollow sections
over 1.5 m in length is a bundle bound with
plastic bands and wrapped in plastic. Sections
under 1.5 m in length are packed on a pallet.
We can also pack in other ways if desired.
• For polished hollow sections over 3 m long,
individual packing is used. In bundles of
polished sections under 3 m, plastic film is put
between layers. General packing details can
