UNDERGRADUATE INDUCTION DAY<br />

Friday 7 October 2011<br />

Undergraduate induction will take place in the Engineering Science Department<br />

Thom Building on Friday 7 October 2011. You should aim to arrive at Lecture<br />

Room 1 on the 1 st floor by approx. 1.55pm.<br />

The afternoon will include:<br />

Introductory Talks by the Head <strong>of</strong> Department and the Senior<br />

Administrator.<br />

An introduction to safety in the Department <strong>of</strong> Engineering Science<br />

A presentation by the Chairman <strong>of</strong> Faculty<br />

After this you will be required to register with the Department.<br />

Registration takes place in the foyer <strong>of</strong> the Thom Building. It will involve:<br />

Getting a Course Handbook and Reading List<br />

Having your photograph taken<br />

Getting a copy <strong>of</strong> HLT Engineering Tables and Data which you will use<br />

throughout your course<br />

The opportunity to buy a log book (£5.00 each)<br />

The opportunity to join:<br />

o The Society <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> <strong>University</strong> Engineers as an associate member -<br />

Students may join as associate members for a subscription <strong>of</strong> £10, becoming full life<br />
