Dr. Anjani Kumar
Dr Anjani Kumar is a Principal Scientist (Agricultural Economics) at the National Centre for
Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (NCAP), New Delhi. He has also served as
Senior Agricultural Economist in the Asia Office of International Livestock Research
Institute, Nairobi. He has also worked as consultant for FAO, World Bank, IFPRI, NAFED
and DST. He led a number of research projects of national and international importance. His
work includes: trade liberalization and its impact on livestock and fisheries; food safety issues
and their implications; cost of compliance of food safety measures, technological change and
agricultural growth. He has made important contributions to agricultural economics and
policy research and his findings have been widely used by policy makers, planners and
experts. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to social science research, he was
conferred with Lal Bahadur Young Scientist Award (biennium 2003-04) and NAAS Young
Scientist Award (biennium 2001-02). Besides, he received several awards for his scholarly
research works. He has been nominated as NAAS Associate Fellow w.e.f. 1 st January, 2008
