<strong>Dr</strong> <strong>Anjani</strong> <strong>Kumar</strong> is a Principal Scientist (Agricultural Economics) at the National Centre for<br />
Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (<strong>NCAP</strong>), New Delhi. He has also served as<br />
Senior Agricultural Economist in the Asia Office of International Livestock Research<br />
Institute, Nairobi. He has also worked as consultant for FAO, World Bank, IFPRI, NAFED<br />
and DST. He led a number of research projects of national and international importance. His<br />
work includes: trade liberalization and its impact on livestock and fisheries; food safety issues<br />
and their implications; cost of compliance of food safety measures, technological change and<br />
agricultural growth. He has made important contributions to agricultural economics and<br />
policy research and his findings have been widely used by policy makers, planners and<br />
experts. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to social science research, he was<br />
conferred with Lal Bahadur Young Scientist Award (biennium 2003-04) and NAAS Young<br />
Scientist Award (biennium 2001-02). Besides, he received several awards for his scholarly<br />
research works. He has been nominated as NAAS Associate Fellow w.e.f. 1 st January, 2008<br />
