place cash were the familiar in-the-money pair, John Canino<br />

from Baldwinsville, and Marv Smith from Hackettstown, N.J.,<br />

shooting for Amy's Checkered Flag of Waterloo.<br />

Sunday brought 14 teams to challenge for over $1,150 in<br />

cash prizes. Finishing in the winner's circle was the tough-tobeat<br />

team of Dick Losee and Russ Reynolds from Sherburne,<br />

N.Y. Earning second place winnings were Earl Durgan and<br />

Doug Fridley Jr. from the Dew Drop Inn. Third went to the<br />

"famous" husband-wife team of Arlow and Jane Johnson from<br />

Jordan, N.Y. And taking home fourth place monies were the<br />

local Geneve Moose favorites, Sherry Bates and Jim Perry,<br />

shooting in his first-ever ISL event.<br />

"Geneve Moose is to be <strong>com</strong>mended for their fine buffet<br />

both days of zitas and meatballs, baked beans, escalloped<br />

potatoes, dogs and sauce, chips and dip, and pepperoni-cheese<br />

and crackers available all day long," reports Doug Fridley Jr.<br />

"Thanks, chef A1 Tauteroff! "<br />

Dopey & Mopey Stars of Lafayette Inn Draw Partner<br />

December 7, the day that will live in the memories of a nation,<br />

and the state of Delaware whose birthday is Dec. 7, and<br />

in the memories of Dopey and Mopey. The latter event took<br />

place at Lafayette Inn, Rising Sun, Maryland, at the monthly<br />

first Saturday of the month draw partner event. Dopey and<br />

Mopey were Mopey Hasson, Perryville, Md, and Dave (D----<br />

) Shewbridge, Wlkton, Md., who took first place and most of<br />

the marbles. Second place went to Joe Williams, Ridley Park,<br />

Pennsylvania, and Jim Yank Sr. of Philadelphia. ~hird place<br />

went to Carol Hampton, Charlestown, Md., and John Sinclai.,<br />

Rising Sun.<br />

The day was capped off with a hot buffet for all participants<br />

provided by hosts Pat and Nelson Renzo. "We meet<br />

at this popular 4-board establishment the first Saturday of<br />

every month with anywhere from 25 to 40 players joining in.<br />

Come join the fun at 1 p.m. sharp," invites Dick Gorman.<br />

Mixed Doubles at Lafayette Inn<br />

The second in a series of four mixed doubles tournaments<br />

at Lafayeae Inn, Rising Sun, Maryland, was held on Dec. 8 on<br />

the four in-house boards. The bidding was cautious on the<br />

many good and potential winning teams, reports Dick Gorman.<br />

As the day progressed, Pat and Nelson Renzo treated all<br />

participants to a fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and string<br />

bean dinner, giving the holiday stomachs an early start.<br />

Meanwhile, back to the shooting ...<br />

Traveling from Western Maryland, Wanda Farris, Dargan,<br />

and Lonzo Knight, Sharpsburg, teamed up to take first place<br />

over second place finishers Mary Wagner, Milford, Delaware,<br />

and John Lukas, Millington, Md. Third place went to Judy<br />

Iseman, Chestertown, Md., and Len Dell, Bell Camp, Md.,<br />

with fourth and final money going to Rita Yank, Philadelphia,<br />

and Johnny Gardner, Greensboro, Md.<br />

The next mixed doubles tournament in this four-tournament<br />

series is scheduled for Jan. 5. Call 410-658-9075.<br />
