B. Rules for Producing Competition<br />

Rule B.1 (Competition Types)<br />

1.1 There are the following types of competition:<br />

1.1.1 Individual competitions<br />

1.1.2 Team competitions<br />

1.1.3 Formation competitions<br />

1.1.4 Freestyle competitions<br />

Rule B.2 (Activity and Participation in Competitions)<br />

2.1 Athletes, couples, formation teams and teams may not participate in competitions which<br />

have not been previously approved in writing by the <strong>WDSF</strong> or a <strong>WDSF</strong> Member <strong>Federation</strong><br />

or for which authorisation to compete has not been granted by the Presidium.<br />

2.2 Subject to <strong>WDSF</strong>’s Statutes and Competition Rules, and subject to the policies<br />

established by the General Meeting and any agreements or policies made by the Presidium,<br />

the admission of competitors to international or other competitions (including all amateur<br />

competitions) is governed by the relevant <strong>WDSF</strong> Member body.<br />

Rule B.3 (Amateur and Professional Competitions)<br />

3.1 <strong>WDSF</strong> Competitions may only be organized or produced together with professional<br />

competitions with the prior approval of the <strong>WDSF</strong> Presidium.<br />

Rule B.4 (Granting of Competitions)<br />

4.1 The <strong>WDSF</strong> Presidium grants the right to organize and produce <strong>WDSF</strong> Championships,<br />

Cups and competitions defined in these Rules; see also the <strong>WDSF</strong> Financial Regulations<br />

re: fees for such grants.<br />

4.2 Except for International Invitation Competitions for couples and International Invitation<br />

Competitions for Formation Teams, the Presidium may not grant any of these<br />

Championships, Cups or competitions unless they have previously been offered to <strong>WDSF</strong><br />

Member bodies in writing.<br />

4.3 The Presidium may grant these Championships, Cups or competitions directly to bidders<br />

such as governments of cities or countries, subject to prior approval in writing by the <strong>WDSF</strong><br />

Member body in the relevant country.<br />

4.4 International Invitational Competitions must be registered with <strong>WDSF</strong>. The organization of<br />

these competitions shall be as freely decided by the national Member body.<br />

Rule B.5 (Invitations)<br />

5.1 Invitations to International Invitational Competitions must be arranged between the relevant<br />

<strong>WDSF</strong> Member bodies. Each invitation must contain the date of registration of the<br />

competition by <strong>WDSF</strong>.<br />
