1 ST <strong>INVITATIONAL</strong> <strong>MALDIVES</strong> <strong>BEACH</strong> <strong>GAMES</strong> <strong>2011</strong><br />
The First Invitational Maldives Beach Games organized by the Government of the Republic of the Maldives<br />
in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources, Youth and Sports and the Maldives Olympic<br />
Committee will be held from 16 th September – 21 st September, <strong>2011</strong>.<br />
Male— Capital Island
The Invitational Maldives Beach Games is an annual event, and 9 (nine) sports discipline are engaged in the<br />
Games and one of them is BODYBUILDING. The other sports are: Beach Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Beach<br />
Cricket, Beach Kabadi, Open Water Swimming, Triathlon and Surfing.<br />
A shout away from the main island of Bandos is the uninhabited island of Kuda<br />
Bandos (literally meaning small Bandos) ideal for a private picnic on the beach or<br />
merely enjoying the sunset after a full day of snorkelling the reef or swimming in<br />
the clear blue lagoon.<br />

Bodybuilding officials and athletes will be staying in the Bandos Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives. Bandos<br />
is a beautiful coral island with all the facilities and services, a large island close to the capital city of Male and<br />
the airport. The competition for Bodybuilding will take place in KUDA Bandos (Litte Bandos) a ten minutes<br />
boat ride from Bandos Island.<br />
Sundowners Bar<br />
Situated near our world class diving facility, the Sundowners Bar is so named<br />
because it is the best place to watch the setting of the sun. Frequented often<br />
by divers wishing to have a quick bite and drink after a dive, the bar is open<br />
daily between 0730hrs to 1930hrs.<br />

After hopping around the island of Kuda Bandos under the sunny<br />
weather, Paul and Christina together with Ahmed Ameen, General<br />
Secretary of the Bodybuilding Federation of Maldives sat under the<br />
trees shed for a short rest.<br />

and General-Secretary Ameen with Vice-Chairman Ibrahim of the Bodybuilding<br />
Federation of the Maldives together with their family members. Chairman<br />
Mahid hosted an authentic Thai dinner in one of the top restaurant in Male<br />
during this occasion.
The State Minister Mr. Mohamed Rasheed Hussain was awarded a plaque from<br />
WBPF's Secretary General Paul Chua after the meeting of the 1 st Invitational<br />
Maldives Beach Games. Witnessing the presentation was Mr. Ibrahim Ismail Ali,<br />
President of the Maldives Olympic Committee.<br />

Mr. Ibrahim Ismail Ali, President of the Maldives Olympic Committee.<br />
Mr. Ibrahim Ismail Ali supports the sport of bodybuilding and physique sports in the<br />
Maldives and he is actively involved in the <strong>1st</strong> Invitational Maldives Beach Games.
Paul Chua, Secretary-General of the WBPF & <strong>ABBF</strong> awarded a plaque from the<br />
WBPF to Mohamed Mahid Shareef, Chairman of the BBFM. Mahid is the<br />
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources, Youth and Sports<br />
Paul Chua conducted a Judging and Technical Seminar during his visit to the Maldives<br />
at the Conference Room of the Maldives Olympic Committee in Male. Many members<br />
of the BBFM were present at this seminar and they were very pleased to learn from<br />
the Father of Bodybuilding on these topics.

The World and Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federations are extremely proud that the 1 st<br />
Invitational Maldives Beach Games is organized by the Government of the Maldives in Male from 16 – 21<br />
September <strong>2011</strong><br />
It is great to know that 9 (nine) sports disciplines are engaged in this Games and one of them is<br />
Bodybuilding.<br />
On behalf of the WBPF and <strong>ABBF</strong>, I wish to congratulate the government of the Maldives for taking the<br />
initiative to organize such games. I am confident that it will be a great success, and I hope that by organizing<br />
such international sporting event will help the Maldives to be placed in the sporting map of the world.<br />
The people of the Maldives are warm and friendly and I am sure that Bodybuilding fraternity will enjoy the<br />
great hospitality, friendship and will receive an excellent reception and spectacular activities in the beautiful<br />
islands of the Maldives, with beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.<br />
As the Secretary-General of the WBPF and <strong>ABBF</strong> and as well as the Technical Delegate for Bodybuilding, I am<br />
confident that this event will be a great success.<br />

18 th September – Pre-judging of 55kg. – 65kg. - & 75kg. at 11.00 a.m.<br />
Finals of the above 3 (three) categories at 7 p.m.<br />
19 th September – Pre-judging of 60kg. – 70kg. & 80kg. at 11.00 a.m.<br />
Finals of the above 3 (three) categories at 7 p.m.<br />
20 th September – Sightseeing<br />
21 st September – Departures

arrangements for hotel accommodation.<br />
