Voluntary departures from the United States that are verified by the Department of Homeland Security. Voluntary departures are a form of relief from formal removal, under
which an alien is permitted to depart the United States voluntarily. Most of the voluntary departures are of Mexican nationals who have been apprehended by the U.S.
Border Patrol and are returned to Mexico.
