Note: Includes all Border patrol apprehensions and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) administrative apprehensions along with criminal arrests for fiscal years
1925 to 2003. Beginning in fiscal year 2004, excludes ICE criminal arrests. The number of aliens apprehended was first recorded in 1925. Prior to 1960 and after 1986
total deportable aliens located do not include nonwillful violator crewmen who violated the conditions of their stay in the United States because their vessel did not leave the
United States within 29 days. For purposes of statistical reporting there is no difference between the terms “apprehensions” and “deportable aliens located.”
