Inauguration of Post offices<br />

at Muzaffarnagar, Uttar<br />

Pradesh<br />

THROUGH NIC Video link Minister of State for<br />

Communication and Information Technology Sh.<br />

Sachin Pilot on 20th November 2010 dedicated 5 post<br />

offices under the Project Arrow scheme of the<br />

Department of Posts to the people of Western UP. These<br />

post offices would have uniform brand hierarchy and a single<br />

window service system to reduce the waiting time for<br />

customers.<br />

The inauguration function was held at the City post<br />

office, Muzaffarnagar from where the other four post<br />

offices were inaugurated through a NIC video link. The<br />

other posts offices are at Dhampur (Bijnore), Behat<br />

(Saharanpur), Rampur and J P Nagar (Amroha).<br />

Muzaffarnagar MP Sh. Qadir Rana was also present during<br />

the inauguration.<br />

Video Conferencing equipments were set up by NIC<br />

Muzaffarnagar in a record time of 12 hours. NIC<br />

Muzaffarnagar got the special lease line laid by BSNL.<br />

Router & modems were arranged from nearest swan center.<br />

Video conferencing camera of NIC Muzaffarnagar was<br />

interfaced with the communication equipments installed<br />

at post office.. Auxiliary camera was attached with VC<br />

camera to cover entire function. Extra LCD display unit<br />

was attached with VC camera for public viewing. Minister<br />

appreciated the video support of NIC district unit. Local<br />

print media widely covered the event. Sh. Pankaj Jain,<br />

DIO/TD NIC-Meerut was also present for support.<br />

Muzaffarnagar SWAN team also technically supported the<br />

function. Sh. Sanjay Arora, DIO/TD, Bijnore, Sh. Nalin<br />

Kaushik, DIO/J P Nagar, Sh. Ravinder Chauhan,<br />

DIO/Rampur and Sh. Jagpal Kaushik, DIA/Saharanpur<br />

contributed at remote ends to make this event success.<br />

Speaking on the occasion Sh. Pilot assured that the<br />

Department of Posts would continue to upgrade other<br />

post offices in the in the western Uttar Pradesh. He said a<br />

large number of post offices throughout the country are<br />

getting transformed under Project Arrow.<br />

He said under the project the post office employees have<br />

been sensitised and imparted training in soft skills and<br />

information technology. All the upgraded post offices are<br />

being equipped with broad band connectivity to provide<br />

web-based services of the Department such as e-money<br />

order, Western Union money transfer, instant money<br />

order and e-post to name a few.<br />

Implementation of e-File in<br />

NIC Nagaland<br />

SIO Nagaland addressing through VC on eFile<br />

ALONG with rest of the state in the country, a demo<br />

on e-File application under e-Office was organized<br />

at NIC Nagaland State Centre, Kohima on 04 November<br />

2010. The DIOs and DIAs of the NIC Nagaland District<br />

Centres also participated through video-conferencing.<br />

Sh. Kezungulo Medikhru, SIO, NIC Nagaland<br />

addressed the participants and emphasized on the<br />

importance of e-File implementation in all NIC Centres<br />

of Nagaland. He also encouraged the officers to give due<br />

attention to this application as it will be mandatory for<br />

all official file movement which is to be done in electronic<br />

form only.<br />

This was followed by introduction and demo session<br />

led by Sh.T.Y.Sangtam, SSA & Nodal Officer for e-File.<br />

The half-day programme came to an end after hands-on<br />

session.<br />
