Diploma of Communications<br />

The Diploma of Communications focuses on both theoretical and<br />

practical dimensions of communication. It provides introductory<br />

level units where students are able to gain a perspective of<br />

communications and acquire fundamental skills, which are<br />

essential for their course and career. Upon transfer to ECU,<br />

students may choose from many areas of specialisation within the<br />

Bachelor of Communications, the Bachelor of Creative Industries<br />

or the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts. Single majors may also be<br />

chosen from within the School of Communications and Arts (SCA).<br />

Digital Photo Media<br />

• CMM1113D Media and Social Context<br />

• CMM1101D Reading Media Texts<br />

• CMM1105D Study Skills<br />

plus 2 elective units chosen from any Diploma program.<br />

Diploma of Communications (leading to Bachelor of<br />

Marketing and Creative Services)<br />

• CMM1108D Communications and Digital Technology<br />

• BES1100D Foundations of Business Knowledge<br />

• MKT1600D Marketing Principles and Practices<br />

plus 5 elective units chosen from any Diploma program.<br />

Progression rule to Degree<br />

Minimum 50% pass in all units.<br />

* Note: Student entering a major in Graphic Design and/or Interior & Spatial<br />
