Siemens AG (Berlin and Munich) is a
global powerhouse in electronics and
electrical engineering, operating in the

Siemens entered the traffic industry
market in 1924 with the implementation
of the first signal system with red, yellow
and green in Berlin, Germany. Innovation
continued when Siemens introduced the
first centrally controlled light signal system
in 1926 and a tradition of developing

industry began. With its many years of
presence in the world markets, Siemens
Traffic Solutions possesses extensive
international know-how and proven

management and guidance systems.
Siemens entered the US transportation
market in 1995 through the acquisition
of two industry leaders in the United
States; Eagle Traffic Control Products
and Gardner Transportation Systems. In
2007 Siemens launched a global re-organization
that resulted in the inception of
three main sectors; Industry, Energy and
Healthcare. This organization aligned like
business units and created the opportunity
for combined resources and synergies.
Siemens Traffic Solutions aligned
under the Mobility division as part of the
Industry sector. The Mobility division is
an alignment of business units developing
