Mayor Hamdon proclaimed May as Speech and Hearing Month.

Mayor Hamdon proclaimed April 24, 2013, as Hate Crime Awareness Day.

Mayor Hamdon presented Nesen Naidoo with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award.

S/Sgt. Brian Jones – RCMP March Report
S/Sgt. Jones provided Council the March Policing Report and a brief review of the
2012/2013 Annual Performance Plan. S/Sgt. Jones also provided a further
explanation of the reasons clearance rates may vary. Mayor Hamdon asked S/Sgt.
Jones if there has been an increased traffic concern around the new Skatepark.
S/Sgt. Jones explained that the detachment is keeping an eye on the area however
there is no indication of the site being a source of concern. Mayor Hamdon thanked
S/Sgt. Jones for the report.
Homelessness Partnering Strategy
Lola Strand provided Council a review of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy,
adding that through grant funding the community is in a position to accurately gauge
the homeless situation in Drayton Valley. Mayor Hamdon thanked Mrs. Strand for the
information.
2012 Auditors Report – Phil Dirks
Phil Dirks provided Council a report on the 2012 Audit for the Town of Drayton Valley.
Mayor Hamdon thanked Mr. Dirks and the Treasury Department for their work.

Councillor McLean moved to approve the audited financial statements for 2012 as presented.
