Professor James E. BYRNE is Director of
IIBLP, teaches at George Mason University
School of Law and is Editor of
Documentary Credit World. He Chaired and
served as Reporter for the International
Standby Practices (ISP98).
About the URDG Programme:
Effective 1 July 2010, URDG 758 attempts to unify independent
guarantee practice. This programme will study its provisions, consider
their strengths and weaknesses in light of independent guarantee and
standby practice, compare it to ISP98, and provide practical advice
regarding URDG 758 guarantees, including advice regarding forms
and clauses as well as provisions that should or could be excluded.
