SYNOPSIS
FRENCH KISS
A rainy day allows Fred (Claude Legault) to meet Juliette (Céline Bonnier). The flirt starts
with a classic "Don’t I know you from somewhere..."
Juliette thinks for a while, and then... Yes, she knows that man! Robert, the guy who sat
behind her in biology class. Obviously, this is a made-‐up story, but for the pleasure of
spending an evening with Juliette, Fred becomes that Robert. But where can a love story
go when it started with a lie
DIRECTOR : SYLVAIN ARCHAMBAULT
FRENCH KISS
Sylvain Archambault’s journey in the film industry began in
1986. Fresh out of Concordia University with a BFA
(Bachelor of Fine Art) in cinematographic production, he
created Wolfpack Productions, through which he produced
many documentaries, feature films as well as music videos
for well known Quebec artists such as Marjo, Paul Piché and
The Box.
It was by accident that he found himself in the advertising world. He began as an
executive producer producing over a thousand advertising films, then continued on as a
director, directing more than 200 ads throughout the world (South Africa, Mexico,
France, the United States…) including national ad campaigns, notably for the Olympic
Games. He was awarded multiple international prizes such as the ‘Coq d’Argent’ and the
‘Coq de Bronze’ from the Montreal Publicity Club and was twice a finalist at the London
Advertizing Film Awards.
He made the move from directing advertizing films to directing feature films and
television shows in 2004, beginning with Le Négociateur I & II (2004, TVA), le 7e Round

(2066, SRC), Bob Gratton II & III (2007/2008, TQS) and Les Lavigueur, la Vraie Histoire
(2007, SRC), for which he won the 2008 Gémeaux Award for best directing in a dramatic
series.
Pour Toujours… Les Canadiens, his first feature length film, produced by Cité-‐Amérique,
hit theaters in December of 2009 and was followed by 2010’s Piché: Entre Ciel et Terre,
produced by Pixcom, which won the Golden Ticket at the 2011 Jutra Awards. His latest
feature film, French Kiss (Cité-‐Amérique), was released in 2011. Sylvain Archambault just
finished shooting in Brazil the adaptation of Jean-‐Christophe Rufin’s novel, Rouge Brésil,
starring Stellan Skarsgård and Joaquim de Almeida, which is set to be released in 2012.
