1. Synopsis
A well-‐known writer is assaulted in a porn cinema. He had an appointment there with
Rose, a young student working as a prostitute. It soon becomes clear that quite a few
students are resorting to prostitution, so Hannah and her team decide to go
undercover in club Sin City, a place for everyone shunning daylight and for girls who
pick up their clients there.
When Hannah and her team discover that the owner of both the porn cinema and Sin
City is Rose’s uncle, the case becomes personal, particularly to Hannah, because she
knows only too well the damage family secrets can cause…
3. Cast biography
3.1 Hannah Maes by Veerle Baetens
If you mention Veerle Baetens in Flanders, people will immediately think of Sara, the telenovela
aired by VTM, holding audiences spellbound for 200 episodes in 2007. Baeten’s impressive
interpretation of the ugly duckling transforming into a beautiful swan resulted in Flemish
Television Star Awards for Best Actress and Most Popular Television Personality.
Baetens also made a name for herself in film with lead roles and other strong performances in
films such as ‘Loft’ (Erik Van Looy), ‘Windkracht 10: Koksijde Rescue’ (Hans Herbots), ‘Dennis
van Rita’ (Hilde Van Mieghem), ‘Verlengd Weekend’ (Hans Herbots), ‘De Kus’ (Hilde Van
Mieghem), ‘De Zusjes Kriegel’ (Dirk Beliën), ‘Alias’ (Jan Verheyen) and ‘Kiekeboe,
Misstoestanden’ (Renaat Coppens).
In 2003, Baetens’ mezzo-‐soprano voice was heard in the musical ‘Holiday Love Show’, an
adventure that gave her much satisfaction, so three years later she performed the lead in ‘Pippi
Longstocking’. Her interpretation of the roguish red-‐haired girl resulted in a Flemish Musical
Award for Best Newcomer and a Johnny Kraaijkamp Musical Award for Best Leading Actress.
3.2 Bob De Groof by Michaël Pas
Michaël Pas made his acting debut in 1986 in ‘Crazy Love’, a film directed by Dominique
international films such as ‘Blueberry Hill’ (Robbe De Hert), ‘Boys’ (Jan Verheyen), ‘Brylcream
Boulevard’ (Robbe De Hert), ‘Le Mur’ (Alain Berliner) and supporting roles in ‘Eline Vere’ (Harry
Kümel), ‘Daens’ (Stijn Coninx), ‘Antonia’s Line’ (Marleen Gorris), ‘Left Luggage’ (Jeroen Krabbé),
‘Team Spirit I&II’ (Jan Verheyen), ‘Alias’ (Jan Verheyen), ‘Buitenspel’ (Jan Verheyen) and ‘De
SM-‐Rechter’ (Erik Lamens) to name but a few. Pas also lent his voice to the Flemish version of
animated films ‘Madagascar I&II’ (Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath) and ‘Ratatouille’ (Brad Bird, Jan
Pinkava).
Many Flemish television viewers will associate Michaël Pas with his role in ‘Kulderzipken’ and
his macho character Stef in ‘Team Spirit: De Serie’ and ‘Team Spirit II: De Serie’. Over the past
few years, Pas also guest starred in Flemish police series ‘Aspe’, ‘Zone Stad’ and ‘Vermist’.
Pas’ acting talents have been recognised both in his own country and abroad. In 1988, he
received a Star de Demain in Geneva, followed a year later by a Joseph Plateau Prize for Best
Belgian actor, an award for which he was nominated no less than three times between 1994
and 1997. In 1998 he was awarded a VIDIA for Best Foreign Actor at the Cinetron Festival in
Jakarta and in 2007 he was nominated for the Louis D’Or in Amsterdam for his role in theatre
production ‘August, August, August’.
