Student Handouts<br />
- List of topics/assignments / Groups linked with colors – have cards on desks – students draw<br />
numbers & chose groups; students within groups select their assignments<br />
- Specific group assignments with daily tasks to be signed off on (include sample websites)<br />
- rubric for project<br />
Day 2 – computer lab<br />
- Show students how to access daily tasks for projects on school intranet (this would include sample<br />
websites as listed on group assignment)<br />
- Create citation page and go over citation format (Citation Machine) (use hot key so they can have<br />
Citation Machine (or whatever site is used in school) visible next to web site being cited) – use<br />
Alhambra website as 1 st citation<br />
- Begin research if time<br />
Day 3 - computer lab<br />
print out citation sheet<br />
print out list of locations to go on overlays – at least 2 pieces of info.<br />
Day 4- library<br />
- handout: citation formats for books, magazines, encyclopedias<br />
- find at least 2 items for overlays from print resources<br />
- at least one citation added to citation sheet<br />
- can start on base map overlays<br />
Day 5 – classroom – work on initial overlay formats<br />
- enter initial info. from computer lab/library<br />
- hand in citation sheets and overlays<br />
HINT: use dry erase marker over sharpie mistake and wipe off with tissue/eraser (only works on writeon<br />
transparencies☺<br />

30 word (with word bank) essay on the four pictures shown in anticipatory set<br />
