Associate Youth Pastor
Position Overview & Qualifications
———————————————————————————
College Park Church is prayerfully searching for an Associate Youth Pastor/Director to join our team of
paid and volunteer staff who minister to jr. high, high school and college students. The position will work
under the leadership of and in collaboration with the Lead Youth Pastor (LYP). Together, these two
people will share the responsibilities necessary to successfully lead the student ministries in keeping with
the mission, strategies, values and doctrine of College Park Church.
Interested persons who believe they are a match for the position of Associate Youth Pastor/Director as
described in this document should go to www.yourchurch.com/youthministryposition to complete
an online application and to submit a resume no later than March 23, 2012. Questions about this
employment opportunity should be directed to youthministrysearch@yourchurch.com.
Background
College Park Church's student ministry is currently structured under the leadership of our jr. high pastor
and our high school pastor. In the present structure, these two pastors lead their respective ministries,
and the jr. high pastor reports to the high school pastor. After eight years of faithful service at CPC, our jr.
high pastor and his family are leaving for the mission field in summer 2012. With this bittersweet
transition, the CPC student ministry leadership is being re-structured to a Lead Youth Pastor and
Associate Youth Pastor/Director model outlined below. While this is a new staff model, it will not change
current programming. The jr. high and high school youth groups at CPC will continue to meet in their
separate, age-based groups.
CPC Student Ministries
The student ministries of College Park Church are committed to the evangelism and discipleship of
students within the context of the local church. The vision for our jr. high, high school and college groups
is the same as the vision for our entire church: Igniting a Passion to Follow Jesus. In an environment of
acceptance and challenge, we believe students can grow more spiritually than most people ever
imagine.
The CPC student ministries provide opportunities for teens to grow in mind, heart and action. Growth in
mind is pursued through teaching that focuses on biblical exegesis, theology, apologetics, cultural
analysis and Christian living. Growth in heart is pursued through relationships with teens, adult
volunteers and parents. Growth in action is pursued through a culture of service that integrates with the
church body, community opportunities, mission trips and personal endeavors. Using a mix of weekly
meetings, small groups, retreats and special events, students are given numerous venues to grow
spiritually.
