Job Description: Sunday School CoordinatorJob Title: Sunday School CoordinatorDepartment: Children’s MinistriesLocation: College Park ChurchReports to: Kristin Gilbert, Assistant Children’s Ministries DirectorClassification: Part time 20 hours a weekSUMMARY / PURPOSE:The Children’s Ministries Sunday School Coordinator is responsible for the tactical oversight andimplementation of all processes and elements related to children’s Sunday School. The SundaySchool Coordinator serves as part of the Children’s Ministries team which strives to ignite a passion tofollow Jesus in the lives of children and their families.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversee preparation of Preschool and Elementary for Sunday morning ministryo Regularly communicate with Sunday School volunteerso Oversee and communicate with the behind –the-scene volunteer team onpreparation for Sunday morningo Update and review attendance rosters for Sunday morning using the churchmanagement softwareo Conduct inventory and stock supplies for Sunday mornings Oversee all processes of Preschool and Elementary Sunday School on-site Sunday morningo Support volunteer needs by providing resources and supplies for Sunday morningministry (including classroom volunteers, supervisors, children’s welcome desk)o Set up all elements for general Preschool and Elementary Sunday morning processes(e.g. rosters, signage, etc.)o Oversee children’s check-in, safety, and security processes on Sunday morningo Ability to effectively problem solve issues that arise unexpectedly Communicate with new parents and first time visitors for assimilation and service Communicate with Nursery Assistant in regard to various nursery related needs anddevelopments Assist in training of volunteers in various roles Attend select Children’s Ministries staff meetings and retreats Supervise some Children Ministries events as staff representativeCOMPETENCIES & EXPECTATIONS: Passion for ministry to children and seeing both parents and children grow in the faith Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior Ability to fully embrace the vision, values, and statement of faith of College Park Church Reliable, trustworthy, self-starter, and excellent at following through on details Possess the ability to embrace innovation and creativity while adapting to growth and change Possess the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality Proven leadership skills utilizing a cooperative, collaborative team leadership style
