Dynamic Design – Donna Dundon<br />
Explore the realm of 2D and 3D design! Who says you can’t<br />
have a great time with math With some simple tools and<br />
an array of art supplies, you can create colorful tanagrams<br />
(Chinese puzzles), tessellations (a pattern of shapes that fit<br />
perfectly together, like that puzzle you did!), mosaics and<br />
art . . . all using geometry and math!<br />
Electricity, Magnetism &<br />
Sound 101 – Loran Krysl<br />
Take part in fun activities with electricity, magnetism<br />
and sound. Build electrical devices that “magically” move<br />
and levitate objects without touching them, that light up<br />
and produce a mild shock, map a magnetic field, make<br />
electromagnets and electric motors, learn how speakers<br />
work, learn about sound waves and vibrations, make a<br />
wineglass sing and break with sound waves. Use a strobe<br />
light to create optical illusions you have to see to believe! The<br />
activities and discussions are appropriate for children 7-9.<br />

experienced through the short 10 years he was an artist.<br />
A new art experience with oil pastels and melting plates.<br />
Encaustic Painting (Hot Wax Painting) is a once in a lifetime<br />
thing. A quick and exciting way to paint something like<br />
Vincent Van Gogh.<br />
Exploring Space – Kathleen Schwab<br />
To infinity and beyond! Explore the Milky Way galaxy, the<br />
place that we call home. Investigate the sun, stars,<br />
constellations, planets and the moon! We will also look at how<br />
the earth’s movements play an important role in our day and<br />
even in our seasons.<br />
Found Object Art – Nicole Cameron<br />
Found object art is a very different way to create and look<br />
at art. We will learn to use vinyl records to make flowers,<br />
popcorn bowls, mobiles and more. Through this class you<br />
will take different materials and turn them into your very own<br />
unique masterpiece.<br />
Fun in the Garden – Shani Stapleton<br />
Are you ready to grow like a plant In this fun class we will<br />
learn about the wonderful plants we can grow from little<br />
seeds. We will enjoy fun art projects and crafts that explore<br />
the parts of vegetables and flowers. We will learn about the<br />
care of our special green friend. Sign up and watch your very<br />
own plant grow from a seed!<br />
Games, Games and More Games! – Katie Gibson<br />
Lace up your tennis shoes because during this week long<br />
adventure we will be on the move! If you love PE, games, or<br />
just good old fashioned fun, this is the class for you! We will<br />
play basketball, volleyball, racquetball, soccer, kick ball,<br />
ultimate Frisbee, sharks and minnows, croquet, bocce ball,<br />
monkey golf, dodge ball, pin-ball soccer, line tag, and more!<br />
It’s okay if you haven’t played them before, we will teach you<br />
and we will all learn together. Come ready to play, have fun,<br />
and even share your favorite games with us!<br />
Inator: the Science of<br />
Phineas and Ferb – Aimee Sommers<br />
Where’s Perry Each class will include, but is not limited to,<br />
a silly science experiment, animal introduction and city/site<br />
exploration! We will also design and build a prototype of your<br />
own Inator.<br />
International Sports – Russell Stapleton<br />
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to compete<br />
in the Olympics or engage in sporting activities from other<br />
countries Then this is your opportunity! This class will be<br />
a thrilling opportunity to participate in games, sports and<br />
activities from around the globe. Don’t miss the opportunity<br />
to join us for international sports.<br />
Japanese Language and Culture –<br />
Timothy Goetter<br />
Learn to speak, read and write Japanese in one week!<br />
Sample some Japanese snacks and sushi. Discover the<br />
beauty of Japan and its customs-history, shopping, food<br />
and restaurants. Enjoy a Japanese lunch and slide show on<br />
Friday as we celebrate our study of Japan.<br />
Jungle Fun – Shani Stapleton<br />
Do you want to discover the jungle We will explore jungle<br />
animals and make fun craft projects for our jungle. We will<br />
use movement activities, dress up and story time to learn<br />
about the jungle. We will find out where animals live and<br />
what they like to eat. Come along on our safari adventure!<br />
La Folie D’Aquarelle<br />
(Watercolor Wild!) – Paula Egan-Wright<br />
Leave Cheyenne behind and enter the wacky studio of French<br />
watercolor professor, Madame Tigre-Lis (teacher in disguise!).<br />
She’s wild about painting and wants you to be too! You’ll<br />
learn French colors, art supplies, animals, fruits-words you<br />
need to paint. You’ll learn tricks to make clouds look fluffy<br />
and trees bristly, while French language and music fill your<br />
ears. You’ll be equipped with brushes, paper and watercolors<br />
(yours to keep!) and every day, after a short French lesson/<br />
game you’ll be free to CREATE!<br />
Land of Knights,<br />
Ladies and Dragons – Peg Kolsrud<br />
Come to the Land of Knights, Ladies and Dragons. We will<br />
paint a wild dragon, make a suit of armor or a fine hat for her<br />
ladyship. Listen to stories about knights and the roundtable.<br />
Everyone will make a crown to become a king, queen or<br />
princess and learn about family heraldry to make shields and<br />
swords. We will learn sword fighting moves and skills so the<br />
knights can fight off the dragons and the ladies can protect<br />
the castle!<br />
Lego Mindstorm Robot Challenge – Ed Olson<br />
Kids will work in teams to build and program a robot. Their<br />
creation will compete against the other robots to see whose<br />
robot will reign supreme.<br />
“Let’s Fly” –<br />
Calling All Young Aviators – Peg Kolsrud<br />
Apply to fly! Learn how planes stay in the air. Where did<br />
pilots Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh fly You will<br />
build a bi-plane, a glider, a space shuttle, and paint a fighter<br />
jet. Then you will put on your flying gear and become flying<br />
heroes! Plan a special guest (pilot) for Friday, June 21.<br />
Lights, Camera, Action! – Kristi Sullivan<br />
Wanted: Actors and actresses to perform in your very own<br />
movie. Design, produce and act out various scripts, complete<br />
with costumes and props. Then take home your very own<br />
DVD copy. You’ll be a star!<br />
Little Chef Camp – Michelle Aldrich<br />
Are you the next Iron Chef We will work on knife skills,<br />
cooking methods, try new foods and focus on breakfasts and<br />
lunches. By the end of class you will have lots of recipes and<br />
experience. Who knew food and cooking could be so much fun!<br />
Mad Scientists – Carrie Barker<br />
Have you ever wanted to see a pop bottle explode 10 feet into<br />
the air Have you ever wanted to make slime Would you like<br />
to blow up a balloon with PopRocks How about creating a<br />
lava lamp In this class we will do all these things and more!<br />
We will learn about the Scientific Method and perform some<br />
really fun science experiments. Come and be a Mad Scientist.
