Detachment Commander’s
Update
Acting Detachment Commander—A/Insp. Peter Valiquette
I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to fill the position of
the Detachment Commander of Quinte West Detachment during the
absence of Inspector Earl Johns. During the past month, I have had the
opportunity to work with both the civilian and uniform staff of the
Quinte West Detachment and to have a part in the day to day operations
of the Detachment. I have also had the opportunity to meet and work
with the Staff at City Hall as well as some of the members of Council.
I appreciate the support that I have received to date and look forward to
with everyone over the next few weeks.
January and February 2011 has been a couple of busy months for our members. D/Sgt. Brad Robson will
advise the Board members of two armed robberies which occurred within days of each other, during the
month of January. Uniform members and members of the Crime Unit / Street Crimes Unit worked together
to conduct a lengthy investigation into the incidents and were able to solve both cases. Those responsible
have been charged and are presently before the courts.
Our members have been working with officials from CFB Trenton in preparation for the Community Open
House scheduled on the Base on the 4th and 5th June 2011. This years theme “Your Wing—Your
Neighbours” will feature displays from the more than 40 different squadrons and units that make up 8 Wing
Trenton. The exhibits will feature current roles and historic perspectives. Our officers will once again
work hand in hand with base personnel to ensure a successful two day event within our City.

I am pleased to announce changes with the Community Policing Officer and School Resource Office positions.
Constable Dave Snider will move to the School Resource Officer and Constable Lonne Foeller will
take over the position of Community Policing Officer.
