Determining the cable volume
Cable diameter and space required: 1 = diameter in mm, 2 = space required in cm²
The space requirements of the cables in the
UFS ducts and trunking with empty spaces
The cable volume is an important
criterion for the selection of the required
duct or trunking size of the
underfloor system. As the cables
are never packed tightly together
or are absolutely parallel, it is not
enough to base the volume calculation
solely on the cable diameter.
A realistic calculation is provided
by the formula (2r)². To simplify
your work, we have listed the diameter
and space requirements of
the most important cable types on
this double page. Important: These
values are average values,
which may vary from manufacturer
to manufacturer. Please refer to
the manufacturer's specifications
for the exact values.
Calculation using the formula
(2r)²
The diameter says little about the
actual space required by a cable.
Calculate: (2r)². This value reflects
the realistic space requirements,
including the compartments.
