Building on the
success of our
annual Coaltrans
USA conference,
Coaltrans is
proud to launch
Coaltrans West
Coast to explore
the exciting and
developing
dynamics of the
Pacific market.
Developed in response to popular demand to
explore the rising opportunities for coal
exports out of the West Coast, we will
uncover the key issues affecting trade
between North America’s producers and
Asia’s buyers. Coaltrans Conferences will
harness its international reputation to offer
an unrivalled platform for networking and
information sharing. With nearly 35 years’
experience, Coaltrans will bring you speakers
from a variety of sectors and different
backgrounds to stimulate debate.
Driven by demand from China, India, Japan and South
Korea, the West Coast promises to play a key role in coal
dynamics in the years ahead. With its world class
infrastructures and large metallurgical coal reserves,
Canada is poised to benefit from these opportunities. But
regulatory and logistical issues remain. Many questions
linger as to how these extensive assets will be utilised.
Despite its low production cost, Powder River Basin
thermal coal faces steep logistical challenges before it can
be effectively traded on Asian markets.
About the Organisers
