<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> – The Company<br />

The <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> <strong>KG</strong> was founded in 1931 and<br />

has grown to be one of the leading companies<br />

in the fields of baking ingredients and flavouring<br />

compounds worldwide.<br />

It all started in Berlin, the pastry chef <strong>Martin</strong><br />

<strong>Braun</strong> began producing flavouring compounds.<br />

Thanks to his hard work and quality products,<br />

the assortment kept on growing with great<br />

acceptance.<br />

After World War II, the headquarters moved to<br />

Hannover. The first export activities to Hungary<br />

and the Netherlands started already in the late<br />

sixties.<br />

In 1973 the cooperation with the company<br />

C. Siebrecht Söhne <strong>KG</strong> began.<br />

Since 1990, <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> is proud to be part of<br />

the Oetker-Gruppe.<br />

The growth continues as in 1992 <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong><br />

merged with the Swiss company Agrano AG. Furthermore,<br />

the companies Arconsa in Spain and<br />

Wolf ButterBack <strong>KG</strong> in Germany were acquired<br />

in 2004. In 2005 the subsidiaries in Poland and<br />

Hungary were founded. There is an organisational<br />

merge of this group of companies into<br />

the <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong>–Gruppe that is in the area of<br />

“Food Service Baking” of the Oetker-Gruppe.<br />

The company Cresco spa in Italy is since 2008<br />

also a member of the <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong>-Gruppe.<br />

<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> has nowadays subsidiaries in<br />

Poland, Hungary, Turkey and a representative<br />

office in the Republic of Singapore.<br />

All companies from the area Professional baking<br />

market of the Oetker-Gruppe are consolidated<br />

under the name “<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong>-Gruppe”.<br />

The <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong>-Gruppe produces and distributes<br />

a complete assortment of convenience products<br />

with a focus on sweet and savoury bakery<br />

products, bread/rolls, desserts and ice-cream<br />

for professional application across all applicable<br />

sales channels worldwide. The assortment includes<br />

pre-products and convenience products for<br />

further commercial processing as well as sweet<br />

and spicy frozen dough pastries.<br />

applications and develop together new ideas.<br />

The BACKFORUM offers practical demonstrations,<br />

marketing and sales seminars, as well as presentations<br />

on top topics from the baking and<br />

foodstuff industry. It offers more than 4900 m²<br />

with 4 bakery rooms. 3 show rooms that have<br />

a capacity of 120 guests, each one completely<br />

equipped with all bakery machines and modern<br />

communication technology. A centre hall with<br />

more than 20 ovens where you find the latest<br />

technique in all possible variations, from in-shop<br />

baking ovens, multi-deck ovens, rack ovens and<br />

others; a 26 m long Rondo line and more…<br />

International Featured Standards<br />

The increase of legal requirements and the<br />

globalization of product supply made it essential<br />

to develop a uniform quality assurance and<br />

food safety standard. Also, a solution had to<br />

be found to reduce the time associated with<br />

a multitude of audits, for retailers as well as<br />

suppliers.<br />

IFS covers common internationally accepted audit<br />

standards in order to continuously improve<br />

safety for the consumers. HACCP (Hazard Analysis<br />

and Critical Control Point) and GMP (Good<br />

Manufacturing Practice) standards are carefully<br />

observed for the certification.<br />

<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> is IFS certified since 2007.


ISO 9001<br />

<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> is ISO certified since 1994, being<br />

one of the first companies in Germany with this<br />

certification in the food industry.<br />

The ISO regulations are in the first instance a<br />

tool for managing quality.<br />

Through its quality management, <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong><br />

is able to offer consistently the highest quality<br />

results. These results are evaluated and registered<br />

on a daily basis, having a continuous<br />

improvement process in all aspects, from the<br />

development, production and sales to administration<br />

procedures.<br />

HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)<br />

HACCP is a systematic approach to the identification,<br />

evaluation, and control of food safety<br />

hazards.<br />

Complying with the HACCP regulations allows<br />

<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> to have a better control throughout<br />

the processes in its production and therefore<br />

enabling it to guarantee continuously safe<br />

products.<br />

ASU Environmental Certification DIN ISO 14001<br />

The ISO 14001 serves as a framework to develop<br />

a “custom made” environmental management<br />

system to minimize processes that affect<br />

the environment, complying with applicable<br />

laws and regulations as well as environmental<br />

oriented requirements and aims at a continuous<br />

improvement.<br />

The protection of the environment is part of the<br />

<strong>Martin</strong> <strong>Braun</strong> <strong>KG</strong> philosophy. The company sees<br />

it as its duty to motivate and instruct its employees<br />

to be more environmentally conscious<br />
