electrical equipment. Electrical appliances and associated equipment<br />

are subject to visual inspection and testing every 12 months. <strong>The</strong>re<br />

are strict controls on equipment that can be used in the workplace;<br />

hygiene and environmental comfort factors. <strong>The</strong> agency complies with<br />

the regulations covering maintenance and inspection of all plant and<br />

equipment; and<br />

chemical, microbiological and deleterious materials hazards. An office<br />

notice on the COSHH regulations has been circulated and guidance<br />

provided, systematic water sampling and testing is in place, and<br />

asbestos registers are kept up to date and asbestos removal is<br />

managed under controlled conditions.<br />

Accidents<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Service</strong> has suffered no fatalities or dangerous occurrences (as defined<br />

under RIDDOR), and has not been served with any health and safety<br />

enforcement notices, nor been convicted of a breach of any health and safety<br />

statutory requirement. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Service</strong> has reported three injuries under<br />

RIDDOR in the period ending 31 December 2005.<br />

<strong>The</strong> numbers of non-reportable accidents recorded decreased to 58,<br />

compared with 66 recorded in 2004 - these are shown in the table below.<br />
