9.1 PowerPoint slide prepared by Mr Imeson on functional safety and overlap
between TC77 MT15 and SC 65A
Mr Imeson presented the above and the Committee considered an email from
Keith Armstrong on 65A/504/NP together with the replies received and
document 77/353A/DC: Distribution of SC65A/504/NP to IEC TC77. This
document cancelled and replaced 77/353/DC.
It was agreed that the UK would nominate Mr Armstrong and Mr Cryer to
participate.

9.4 Report from Mr Carpenter of the meeting of IEC TC77 WG13 held in Tokyo,
Japan 19 - 21 November 2007
The purpose of the meeting had been to progress the revision of IEC
Technical Report (TR) 61000-2-5 – Classification of Electromagnetic
Environments.
It was had been proposed that all environments be derived from the overlap
of three archetypical environments: Domestic, Commercial and Industrial.
Mr Carpenter reported that the outcome was likely to be a much simpler set
of environmental conditions which would not result in too much change to the
generic standard. It was agreed that it was desirable to have as few
conditions as possible. Mr Carpenter would distribute the content in
GEL/210/12 when this was discussed next time.

9.5 Report from Mr Armstrong of the 9th meeting of TC 77 MT15 held in
Maulberg, Germany, 3-5 December 2007
Noted. All the comments from the national committees had been discussed.
9.6 Final consolidated version of the comments on 77/344/CD IEC 61000-1-2 as
received by GEL 210/12/1, discussed and modified by them on the 19 Oct 07,
and approved by GEL 210 on 8th November 2007.

9.7 77/349/INF Measurement Uncertainty within TC 77
At the meeting of GEL/210/12 held 6 September 2007 consideration was
given to producing a simplified document on uncertainty for use by nonmathematicians.
The Swiss national committee had wanted a JWG with
CISPR on this and was putting in a formal NP. It was recommended that the
UK accepted the NP when issued. Regarding a simplified document on the
subject, Mr Carpenter had a separate draft which was a basic introduction to
measurement uncertainty. Mr Carpenter would circulate this to the committee
for development. Mr Alexander volunteered to be involved by
correspondence in this work. Mr Imeson also nominated Phil Carter
(EMCTLA). It was suggested that the document could be an information
document/guide to CISPR 16-4.
