A volunteer is required to edit the Parish
Magazine. The role is home based with hours
to suit, and takes approximately 15 to 20 hours
per month.
The majority of articles arrive via email, with
just a handful that require typing.
The computer software currently used is
Microsoft Publisher for which full training
can be given if required.

spring so that walkers will be able to enjoy outings in
this area without carrying as much mud on their
footwear as has been the case over recent weeks. If you

Geoff Holt Open Day
at Botleigh Grange Hotel
On the 20th May 2007,
Geoff Holt, a man completely
paralysed from the
chest down and confined to
a wheelchair, left Hamble in
his 15ft trimaran dinghy
"Freethinker" and on the
5th September finished his
sail around the coast of
Great Britain in his "Personal Everest Challenge".
Due to poor weather conditions the trip took 109 days
to cover the 1400 miles around the coastline of Great
Britain.
The "Personal Everest Challenge" is supporting RYA
Sailability, which is a charity for the disabled sailing
division of the Royal Yachting Association.
Geoff, who is also BBC South Sports Personality 2007
will be at a free “Open Day” event at Botleigh Grange
Hotel, Hedge End on Saturday 8 th March from 2.00pm
to 5.00pm. There will be a selection of presentations by
Geoff Holt and members of his team and members of
Sailability.
Sailability displays and a number of specially adapted
boats will be on show. It will be a great opportunity for
members of the public to see and hear Geoff talk about
his trip and view the specially adapted craft that are
available for disabled yachtsmen.

Voted Runner Up for
‘Best Improved Parish Magazine’.
On 3rd February, a service was held in
Portsmouth Cathedral by Bishop Kenneth
to celebrate the work of Parish Magazine Editors
throughout the region, and to announce the winner of
the ‘Best Improved Magazine’.
Over 70 entries were submitted, with Curdridge Parish
News being voted as a runner up for the second time
since the competition has been running.
