Other Policies<br />

CANCELLATION OF SEATS / ADMISSION<br />

Admission of all such student who fail to attend at least 33 % of the total<br />

lectures delivered and practicals held in all the papers during the first<br />

10 day from the start of teaching work in the course concerned shall be<br />

cancelled by the principal of the <strong>college</strong> on the recommendation of<br />

H.O.D of physical education / Incharge B.P. Ed course after following<br />

the procedure given below:<br />

1. By the 12th day after the start of classes for a particular course,<br />

the name of those students who fail to attend at least 33% of the<br />

total lectures / practicals shall be put upon the Department Notice<br />

Board. Within 4 days of the date of such Notice, a student who is<br />

short of attendance may give in writing the reasons for her<br />

absence from the classes.<br />

2. If a student does not submit an application in writing within the<br />

prescribed time as stated above, or the response given by the<br />

student in her application are not found to be sufficient and<br />

justified in the opinion of the office of the principal / HOD physical<br />

Education, her admission shall be cancelled.<br />

3. All the seats thus falling vacant shall be filled from the waiting list<br />

or through subsequent counseling before the expiry of the last<br />

date fixed for admission by the <strong>college</strong> / university.<br />

When the admission of the students is cancelled as stated above, the<br />

Department shall display on the Department notice board the list of the<br />

person (s) next in the waiting list and make admissions accordingly.<br />

Note: It is obligatory on the part of the student to keep in touch with the<br />

Department for the possibility of the seats falling vacant.<br />

Scope for Extra Curricular Activities<br />

SPORTS<br />

The <strong>college</strong> provides facilities for the following games. Student on<br />

the rolls are expected to participate in at least one of these:<br />

All students opting for physical education as an elective subject and<br />

participating in games must equip themselves with proper sports gear<br />

as soon as they join <strong>college</strong>.<br />

N.C.C<br />

Facility for participation in the national cadet corps (Army Wing) is<br />

available for the students. Students are prepared for “B” and “C”<br />

certificate examination so that they may avail themselves of reserved<br />

seats in the I.M.A meant for N.C.C. “C” certificate holder. We have one<br />

unit of army wing.<br />

N.S.S<br />

National service schema with the motto 'Not me but you' aim at<br />

personality devolvement through community participation. It is meant<br />

to inculcate a sprite of co-operation and social work among the<br />

students. The <strong>college</strong> hold various camp in the suburbs of the<br />

<strong>Chandigarh</strong> where student interact with the village folk and the colony<br />

residents to impact Adult Education, environment and AIDS<br />

awareness and also to create awareness against social evils.<br />

Each student will be assigned to a tutor who will look after her<br />

welfare and studies.<br />

The tutor will maintain a record of the student's conduct, health,<br />

attendance and progress in studies as well as her participation in<br />

co- curricular activities.<br />

The tutor will lay stress on moral education.<br />

Tutorial group meetings will be held on the last Saturday of<br />

every month.<br />

UNIFORM / DRESS CODE<br />

Sports/ Games/ Activity Dress – As per weather track suit and T-<br />

shirt: Maroon colour track suit and grey T-shirt.<br />

Footwear – As per the requirement of Game/ Sports/ Activity – White<br />

warming-up/ Running Shoes/ Football Studs, Spikes etc.<br />

Formal dress: Theory Classes, Teaching Practice in School/<br />

College, celebrations of National/ International Days. Departmental<br />

Functions etc.<br />

Summer Uniform: Grey Trousers with Maroon T-shirt.<br />

Winter Uniform: Grey Trousers, White full Sleeve Shirt. Maroon<br />

Blazer with Maroon Scarf.
