The various concession scholarship<br />
& other facilities are as under<br />
1. General student: concession in fee;( Refer to common fee<br />
concession application form given in the Prospectus). Half tuition<br />
fee concession is given to 10% of admitted students.<br />
2. Half free brother / sister concession: A student whose elder<br />
brother / sister is paying full fee in any Govt. College of<br />
<strong>Chandigarh</strong> Administration, should apply for concession within<br />
15 days after getting admission in their respective <strong>college</strong> / same<br />
<strong>college</strong>.<br />
3. Concessions for descendant of Kargil martyrs / permanently<br />
disabler concession in <strong>college</strong> fee and hostel fee will be given to<br />
descendants of Kargil martyrs / permanently disable vide letter<br />
No. misc./A-6/35013725 dated 18.4.2007 received from the<br />
Punjab University.<br />
4. SC/ST Student: All SC/Stare eligible for free books and<br />
stationery. Under this scheme, the Education Department,<br />
<strong>Chandigarh</strong> Administration provides free books and stationery<br />
to each student under:<br />
1) Arts – Rs. 250/-<br />
2) Commerce – Rs. 250/-<br />
3) Science – Rs. 350/-<br />
5. Non Hindi Speaking Scholarship: To Encourage the study of<br />
Hindi in Non-Hindi Speaking state and to make available to the<br />
Government of these state suitable personnel for teaching and<br />
other <strong>post</strong>s where knowledge of Hindi essential , Scholarship are<br />
sanctioned under the Govt. of India state for <strong>post</strong>-metric studies<br />
in Hindi. Five Scholarship are given by the <strong>Chandigarh</strong><br />
Administration as follow: Rs. 500/- p.m for B.A/B.Sc/B.Com.<br />
(Pass, Courses & Honours) l, ll, lll Rs. 1000/-p.m for M.A. l, ll<br />
6. Meritorious students Scholarship under the Govt. of India<br />
national Scholarship scheme and UT state merit Scholarship<br />
scheme meritorious students are given Scholarship @Rs.100<br />
p.m, of which 86 Scholarships are given under the Govt. national<br />
Scholarship scheme and 21 Scholarship are given under the UT<br />
merit Scholarship.<br />
Other Scholarship/Stipends<br />
The cases of all eligible students are recommended for grant of<br />
following Scholarships / Stipend /Awards:<br />
1. Indian Council for Cultural Relation Scholarship.<br />
2. Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ST student.<br />
3. Award Scholarship out of P.U students' relief fund.<br />
4. Award of P.U sports stipend.<br />
5. Scholarships are also given to student whose earning parent dies<br />
and the family income therefore falls within the prescribed<br />
income limit as given in the centrally sponsored scheme of <strong>post</strong>matric<br />
Scholarship for SC/ST student.<br />
6. Award of <strong>Chandigarh</strong> (UT) Govt. Merit Scholarship (Eligibility to<br />
be determined on the basis of result of Final Examination).<br />
7. National merit Scholarship DPI (C) Punjab.<br />
8. State Merit Scholarship DPI (C) Punjab.<br />
9. Post-merit studies in Hindi DHE, <strong>Chandigarh</strong> Administration.<br />
10. Students' Aid fund.<br />
Code of Conduct and Discipline<br />
1. Students are expected to maintain proper discipline in and<br />
outside the class room /<strong>college</strong> campus.<br />
2. Students must be punctual and regular in the class & House<br />
Examinations.<br />
3. Parents are requested to attend the parent–teacher Meeting<br />
and remain in touch with the family members to keep track<br />
of their ward's academic performance.<br />
4. Students are expected to be courteous and respectful<br />
toward all the staff members.<br />
5. Use of the Mobile Phone in the class room and library is<br />
strictly prohibited.<br />
6. Smoking, drinking and playing cards on the <strong>college</strong> campus<br />
is strictly prohibited.<br />
7. Disciplinary action will be taken against those who are<br />
found guilty of causing damage to the <strong>college</strong> property.<br />
8. Students must make it a point to read the Notice Board daily.<br />
Ignorance of orders/notices duly displayed on the Notice<br />
Board shall not be accepted as an excuse for noncompliance.<br />
9. Students violating rules and resorting to indiscipline are<br />
liable to be punished in the form of heavy fine, withdrawal of<br />
concession or stipends and even expulsion from the<br />
<strong>college</strong> in extreme cases.<br />
10. Students who are under-age and do not have a valid driving<br />
license for a two wheeler are not allowed to drive as per the<br />
direction of the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana high court.<br />
They are advised not to bring their vehicle to the <strong>college</strong>.<br />
11. Students must park their vehicle at the cycle/scooter stand.<br />
Plying of vehicle on the <strong>college</strong> campus is not allowed.<br />
