Appearance:
milky-white dispersion of low viscosity

pH-value of 10% solution: 6 to 8
Resistance:
compatible with anionic and non-ionic substances; resistant to
organic acids in usual concentrations as well as to hard water
Storage:
at least 6 months if properly stored
Stability to frost: sensitive to frost – do not store below 2°C
Application properties
POLAPPRET PU-H 420 is a stiffening and filling agent for obtaining a hard touch. It is used in
coating compounds for Tech-Tex applications where good compatibility with other agents is
needed. The following special features should be pointed out:
• dry surface; very hard but flexible film
• film shows no crazing in case of overstretching
• good hydrolysis resistance, high durability to washing
• good fold durability when applied to pleated articles
• pad application possible with minimal roller deposits
• good yellowing resistance, suitable for white goods
• cross-linking with isocyanates and melamines
• good compatibility with other finishing chemicals
The product forms a non-ageing film that has no tendency to brittleness.
The resulting finishes are fast to washing and dry cleaning by adding a cross-linker since
POLAPPRET PU-H 420 is not self-crosslinking.

POLAPPRET PU-H 420
Application fields
POLAPPRET PU-H 420 is used for finishing and coating of woven and knitted goods.
The product can also be used as additive in high-grade finishing, for the bonding of non-wovens
and as a binding agent for the fibre flocking.
Further, POLAPPRET PU-H 420 improves the tear strength as well as the abrasion resistance.
Possible applications are, for example,
- the finishing of
ribbons, and bands
curtains and draperies
building site and geotextiles
- bonding of needle felt
- Tech-Tex applications
Guidelines for application
POLAPPRET PU-H 420 can be directly added to the treatment bath in undiluted form.
The respective concentrations to be used depend on the material to be finished and the desired
finishing effects.
We suggest to use the following amounts:
Filling and stiffening finish
cotton, viscose: 50 - 200 g/l POLAPPRET PU-H 420
polyester, polyamide: 100 - 500 g/l POLAPPRET PU-H 420
High-grade finishing (as an additive):
cotton, viscose: 10 - 40 g/l POLAPPRET PU-H 420
The goods are dried at about 80°C and cured at 130 - 150 °C. Drying and curing can also be
done in one operation.
