“When the surface of a lake is still, you can see the bottom
very clearly, but it is impossible to do so, when the surface is
agitated by waves. In the same way, when the mind is still with
no desires and no thought waves, you can see your Self.
That is called Yoga.”
Dear friends of Yoga
Swami Sivananda (1887 – 1963) and Swami Vishnudevananda (1927 – 1993) brought the holistic practice of yoga from India
to the West in a clear and complete form. In the United States alone, nearly 16 million people practice yoga.
Yoga promotes individual well-being and helps overcome the barriers of origin, nationality, religion, age or physical
constitution.
Our team of voluntary staff members are looking forward to being of service to you during your stay and accompanying your
practice step by step. Group asana classes and meditation, talks on topics of health and philosophy open new horizons and
fill the spiritual vacuum. Soon you can face everyday life again with new energy and inspiration.
Located in one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Europe, the Retreat House is an ideal place to combine
