Valuable collection for exhibition and auction
張 安 德 先 生 珍 藏 品 展 覽 拍 賣
HKBU received a precious collection of around 50 antiques and craftworks from Mr Cheung On-tak, Founder of the Cheung
On Tak Charity Foundation, for exhibition and auction, including a hair embroidery rendering of Zhang Zeduan’s Riverside
Scene on Qingming Festival. The funds generated from the auction will support the “Cheung On Tak International Award for
Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Medicine” to promote the internationalisation
and modernisation of Chinese medicine.
張 安 德 慈 善 基 金 創 辦 人 張 安 德 先 生 將 逾 50 件 珍 貴 工 藝 收 藏 品 交 予 大 學 作 展 覽 和
拍 賣 , 包 括 一 幅 《 髮 繡 清 明 上 河 圖 》。 拍 賣 所 得 的 全 數 收 益 將 用 作 支 持 「 張 安 德
中 醫 藥 國 際 貢 獻 獎 」, 協 助 推 動 中 醫 藥 的 國 際 化 和 現 代 化 發 展 。
Professor Chung Ling named Emeritus Professor
鍾 玲 教 授 獲 頒 授 榮 休 教 授 銜
HKBU conferred the title of Emeritus Professor on Professor Chung Ling in recognition of her
distinguished service to the academic arena and the University. Professor Chung was Dean of Arts from
2003-2012 and served as Associate Vice-President in charge of the development of the 3-3-4 curriculum.
大 學 向 鍾 玲 教 授 頒 授 「 榮 休 教 授 」 名 銜 , 以 表 揚 她 的 卓 越 學 術 成 就 和 她 對 浸 大 的 貢 獻 。 鍾 玲 教 授

Professor Raymond Wong recognised for promoting
scientific and technological innovation
黃 維 揚 教 授 獲 頒 科 學 與 技 術 創 新 獎
Professor Raymond Wong, Chair Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Chemistry,
was presented with the 2012 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological
Innovation (Award for Youth Innovation). He was the first Hong Kong native to receive this award
since the establishment of the Foundation in 1994.

Professor Dominic Lam wins Olympic Fine Arts gold medal
林 文 傑 教 授 獲 奧 運 美 術 大 展 金 牌
Professor Dominic Lam, Fung Hon Chu Endowed Chair of Humanics of HKBU’s Institute of
Creativity, won a gold medal at the Olympic Fine Arts Exhibition in London for his work entitled
Millennium Odyssey 2: From the Great Wall to the River Thames – Embrace the World.

What’s New
Visual Arts scholar and student join “Hong Kong at the Liverpool Biennial 2012”
視 覺 藝 術 院 師 生 參 與 「 香 港 在 利 物 浦 雙 年 展 2012」
Dr. Leung Mee-ping, Assistant Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts, and two other
renowned local artists were invited to exhibit their work at the prestigious Liverpool Biennial
2012 event in the UK. In addition, Amy Chan (Master of Visual Arts, Year 2) was selected by
the Hong Kong Arts Development Council to serve as one of two interns at the show.

Mr Anthony Nightingale named Honorary Professor

The School of Business appointed Mr Anthony Nightingale, Director of Jardine Matheson
Holdings Limited, as an Honorary Professor of the School in recognition of his significant
contribution to the business sector and the community at large.

Students scoop three awards at computer animation competition

Tsui Tsz-hoi, Lam Wang-chak and Choi Ting-fung (Digital Graphic Communication,
Year 3) of the School of Communication scooped three awards in the Crossboundary
Anti-corruption Computer Animation/Comics Competition – a gold award
in the tertiary student category, a regional grand prize and the most creative award.

Visual Arts student named Hong Kong Young Artist 2012
視 藝 生 奪 「 香 港 年 輕 藝 術 家 獎 - 最 佳 作 品 大 獎 」
Halley Cheng (Master of Visual Arts, Year 2) of the Academy of Visual Arts was granted the
Grand Prize of the Hong Kong Young Artist 2012 awards at the Asia Contemporary Art
Show for his outstanding work Plants vs Scholars.
