<strong>Park</strong> activities<br />

Crystal Cave (F10)*<br />

Experience the underground world of a limestone<br />

cave, which is home to tiny amphipods — shrimp-like<br />

crustaceans that live in the cave’s streams.<br />

Aboriginal Experience (E5)*<br />

Discover the ways of the Nyoongar people, whose tribal<br />

land is the south-west region of Western Australia.<br />

Golf course (B4)<br />

Have a leisurely round of golf but keep an eye out for the<br />

kangaroos that frequent the fairways.<br />

The Ghosthouse Walk (C1)<br />

The Ghosthouse walk trail is one of WA's top trails<br />

experiences and is just one of the fantastic nine walk<br />

trails within the park.<br />

Take a closer look at nature<br />

Visit the koalas (E5)<br />

Stroll along the 240-metre koala boardwalk to view<br />

one of Australia’s favourite native animals in a natural<br />

environment and learn more about these fascinating<br />

creatures.<br />

Spot the western grey kangaroo<br />

<strong>Yanchep</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong> is home to western grey kangaroos<br />

which can be seen in abundance early and late in the day.<br />

At other times they shelter from the sun so you might be<br />

lucky enough to see them resting in shady areas.<br />

Stretch out on a walk trail<br />

The park has nine walk trails designed to suit a variety<br />

of age groups, interests and fitness abilities. They range<br />

from short trails of 500 metres to challenging trails of 55<br />

kilometres. Each trail has been selected to showcase the<br />

unique biodiversity of the northern Swan Coastal Plain.<br />

Picnic spots galore<br />

All of the barbecues in the park are free. Please follow<br />

the instructions carefully and remember to reignite as<br />

required. You’ll see many birds while you’re picnicking in<br />

the park but please don’t feed them.<br />

Drop into the visitor centre to get information about the<br />

park and browse through the great range of gifts and<br />

souvenirs available. You can also purchase an annual park<br />

pass for <strong>Yanchep</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong> for $20.<br />

Chocolate Drops Tea Rooms (F5)<br />

Drop in for a light lunch, refreshment or ice-cream<br />

and treat yourself to some award-winning, hand-made<br />

chocolate.<br />

<strong>Yanchep</strong> Inn (D5)<br />

Open daily from 8am till late, the historic <strong>Yanchep</strong> Inn<br />

offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and accommodation.<br />

Function room facilities are also available.<br />

Group bookings can be made for adventure caving, and<br />

corporate and team building events. Or why not hire<br />

Cabaret Cave (B9) and have your special function catered<br />

for in a unique setting.<br />

Some activities are subject to availability and weather<br />

conditions. For the most up-to-date information please visit<br />

McNess House Visitor Centre or call the park before your visit.<br />

All tours should be booked early at McNess House Visitor<br />

Centre (F5) to avoid disappointment. Tickets must be<br />

purchased at least 15 minutes before the activity.<br />

Adults $10, children $5 (6 to 15 years),<br />

mini group $25 (two adults and two children).<br />

Australian Seniors Card holders $8.<br />

Caring for your national park during your visit<br />

• Please don’t feed the wildlife.<br />

• Please place your rubbish in the recycle bins or take<br />

it home with you.<br />

• Please stay on designated pathways.<br />

• Dogs are not permitted, except guide dogs.<br />

Caring for your national park through volunteering<br />

Volunteers support many aspects of the park including:<br />

• upkeep of the wildflower garden<br />

• water monitoring<br />

• planting<br />

• seed collecting<br />

• weeding.<br />

<strong>Yanchep</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong> is open every day of the year.<br />

In the event of an emergency please make your way to a<br />

safe area as indicated on the map. If you are on a tour, listen<br />

to your guide’s instructions.<br />

All revenue collected from park entry fees and DECmanaged<br />

businesses is invested in biodiversity conservation,<br />

maintenance and improvement of <strong>Yanchep</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Park</strong><br />

facilities and services, as well as the protection of park values.<br />
