Career Assistance Center –<br />

Acloché<br />

Through a partnership with Acloché, a regional leader in Staffing<br />

and Human Resources Solutions, <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Community</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong> students and alumni have access to a full range of career<br />

assistance services, including:<br />

• Career fairs<br />

• Resume workshops<br />

• Interviewing tips<br />

• Connections with career opportunities and area employers<br />

• Short-term, long-term, part-time and full-time employment<br />

• Internships and co-ops<br />

To access career placement and career resources available through<br />

the Acloché Career Assistance Center, current students and alumni<br />

can visit Nestor Hall, Room 119, on the <strong>Columbus</strong> Campus, or call<br />

(614) 287-5279. Regular office hours are 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday<br />

and Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 7:30<br />

a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday. Students attending the Delaware Campus<br />

can make an appointment and meet with Career Assistance Center<br />

personnel at the <strong>Columbus</strong> Campus office. Information is available<br />

Cashiers and Student Accounting<br />

The Cashiers and Student Accounting operation handles all fee<br />

payments (including $25 parking permits), replacement identification<br />

cards ($4), and transcript requests. COTA bus passes and<br />

postage stamps also can be purchased through the Cashiers and<br />

Student Accounting Office located on the second floor of Rhodes<br />

Hall (<strong>Columbus</strong> Campus). Hours of operation are Monday through<br />

Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., closed<br />

Saturdays; there are extended hours during fee payment rush<br />

periods each quarter. For more information, contact Cashiers and<br />

On the Delaware Campus, student accounting services, including<br />

IDs and direct deposit requests, are provided at the Business Services<br />

Office, located near Student Services in Moeller Hall. Hours<br />

of operation are Monday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and Thursday,<br />

1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.; like the <strong>Columbus</strong> Campus, there extended<br />

hours during fee payment rush periods each quarter. The Delaware<br />

Campus does not have a dedicated Cashier’s Office and is a cashless<br />

operation. Payments by credit/debit cards, checks, and money<br />

orders made be placed in the drop box (just around the corner<br />

from the Business Services Office); no payments are accepted<br />

at the windows. Payment may also be made by mail, Telephone<br />

Information Center at (614) 287-5353, or online via CougarWeb<br />

for fees for both the <strong>Columbus</strong> and Delaware campuses as well<br />

as all sites and distance learning classes. Call (740) 203-8000 for<br />

more information regarding Delaware Campus services.<br />

Child Development Center<br />

The <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> Child Development Center provides full-time,<br />

year-round care and education to children from 6 weeks old to 5<br />

years of age. The center serves the community at large and is an<br />

excellent resource for parents who attend school, work, or live in<br />

the downtown <strong>Columbus</strong> area. Enrollment priority is given to the<br />

children of <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> students, staff and faculty. Teachers<br />

at the center must hold a minimum of an associate degree in the<br />

field of Early Childhood Development. The center also serves as a<br />

field site for students in the Early Childhood Education program.<br />

Adjacent to the Center for Workforce Development, the Child Development<br />

Center’s address is 315 Cleveland Ave., but the entrance<br />

is at the southeast corner of Grant and Grove streets. The center is<br />

licensed through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.<br />

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6:00<br />

p.m. The center is closed on all holidays and in-service days recognized<br />

by <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Childcare tuition<br />

subsidy is available for Pell Grant-eligible students, as funding<br />

<strong>College</strong> Tech Prep<br />

The Heart of Ohio Tech Prep<br />

Consortium<br />

<strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> houses and administers, through Learning Systems,<br />

the <strong>College</strong> Tech Prep-Heart of Ohio Tech Prep Consortium’s<br />

central office and acts as fiscal agent. <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> is a founding<br />

member of the Heart of Ohio Tech Prep Consortium. Since 1992,<br />

the college and its consortium partners—50 high schools, Central<br />

Ohio Technical <strong>College</strong>, the Electrical Trades Center, two regional<br />

campuses of Ohio University, and central and southern Ohio business,<br />

industry and labor organizations—have worked together to<br />

offer high-quality college tech prep programs.<br />

Students who choose college Tech Prep in 11th grade enter a seamless<br />

curriculum for two years of high school, moving directly into<br />

a related associate degree program at <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong>. Tech Prep<br />

college programs are available in the following areas: accounting,<br />

architecture, automotive, business management, business office applications,<br />

civil engineering, computer information/PC technician,<br />

construction management, dental laboratory, digital design and<br />

graphics, early childhood development, electrical trades, electromechanical<br />

engineering and electronic engineering technologies,<br />

emergency medical services, finance, fire science, hospitality,<br />

interactive media, landscape, law enforcement, manufacturing,<br />

marketing, mechanical engineering technology, multi-competency
