NEWS FROM THE CONFERENCES
CII
IBERIAN
MEETING OF THE GENERAL COUNCIL
WITH THE INTER-PROVINCIAL
IBERIAN CONFERENCE (CII)
Following the meeting with of the General
Curia with the Regional Coordinators for
Restructuring, the members of the CII
Conference met with the Superior General and his
Curia on 8-9 May, 2008 in Las Presas, Spain.
(The following reflections are those of Fr. Luis
Alberto Cano, General Consultor.)
One might get the impression that in this journey
that we have undertaken we are going around in circles.
However this is a slow process and we are trying
to arrive at a level of consensus acceptable to as many
people as possible. The religious of this Conference
are courageously attempting to appraise the current situation
of the Congregation with a spirit that is both
realistic and hopeful. We are what we are and who we
are. There is a risk to dwell on our past with nostalgia
— we have a rich history that should not be forgotten.
However, we are at a new point in time and we have to
make our own history, with our possibilities and
dreams, confident that Lord is with us.
We need to stress the awareness that priority needs ➥
